Five teenagers hospitalised after car smashes into tree in Townsville
Five teenagers have been rushed to hospital after a car, believed to be stolen, crashed into a tree during a late-night joyride.
The Mazda CX5 was traveling north on Woolcock Street in Townsville, north Queensland, when it crashed about 2.45am on Friday.
Two of the passengers were found at the scene by emergency services, the other three were located nearby shortly afterwards.
All five teenagers were rushed to hospital, two with ‘fairly serious injuries’.
“It is very early in the investigation at this stage but we are investigating the stolen vehicle,” Senior Sergeant Darren Randall told reporters.
