Fitness influencer performs CPR on two-year-old son after drowning two days before Christmas
Terrifying moment: Fitness influencer Chontel Duncan’s son nearly drowns in her backyard pool, as she rushes in to perform CPR
A Brisbane fitness influencer has been left in shock after her two-year-old son nearly drowned in her backyard pool before Christmas.
Chontel Duncan, a mother of five, took to Instagram on Monday urging her 1 million followers to check their pool gates and keep up with their first aid and CPR training.
The 32-year-old revealed that on December 23 her son Paris managed to enter the pool after the gate did not close, and he submerged in the water for 1 minute and 20 seconds while trying to swim.

“I found him at the bottom of the pool and I jumped in. Someone was taking care of us and miraculously he survived and he’s fine,” Chontel explained.
Chontel then revealed that this was not the first time she had to revive one of her children.
In February, she was forced to perform CPR on her daughter Havana, who was born prematurely a month earlier.

However, it did not detail the circumstances surrounding this incident.
I did CPR in Havana on February 18, 2022 and then this. The pain is excruciating and the fear can be debilitating, but if there is one thing 2022 has taught [my husband] Sam and I, it’s living in the present, not stopping and appreciating life,” she wrote.
‘Christmas this year struck differently; We talked about family time this season, but take it as a great reminder to TRULY appreciate life and those in it and be present.

Chontel accompanied her post with photos of her family spending time together over the Christmas holidays.
It comes after Chontel welcomed twin girls Habana and Justicia on January 5 at just 31 weeks, after facing the ‘exhausting fear’ of a ‘threatened miscarriage’ during the pregnancy.
Chontel and her high school sweetheart, Sam, are now the proud parents of five young children, all under the age of seven.
