Fitness influencer Kayla Itsines left hospitalised with shock health scare

Kayla Itsines has had a less than stellar start to 2025.

The fitness guru, 33, revealed this week that she experienced a health scare that led to her being hospitalized.

Alongside a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed, Kayla revealed she was suffering from a number of terrifying symptoms.

She said she couldn’t speak properly, had trouble focusing her eyes and had headaches that felt like her “brain was going to explode.”

The post was reshared by Instagram account Influencer Updates with Amber Paul.

A second image was a photo of Kayla smiling at the camera while wearing white headphones.

The image also included a screenshot from a period tracker app, with the words: “Period: Day 2.”

“Now that should be right, buddy,” she captioned the second image.

“I think @kayla_itsines is saying she was hospitalized with these symptoms and it turns out it’s her period,” Amber captioned her repost.

Ny Breaking Australia has contacted Kayla Itsines for comment.

Kayla’s recent hospital visit comes after she recently celebrated husband Jae Woodroffe’s 34th birthday.

She shared a series of clips of herself with her boyfriend, alongside a sweet message on Instagram.

The post included a sweet video of the couple dancing during their wedding ceremony in Adelaide.

Other sweet photos included the couple posing with their son Jax and Kayla’s daughter Arna, who she shares with ex-fiancé Tobi Pearce.

‘Happy Birthday to my husband… 30!! .. again… for the 4th year in a row. I love you so much!!!’ she wrote.

Many excited fans gushed over Kayla’s heartwarming tribute and wished Jae a happy birthday.

‘The way you look at each other! Happy birthday Jae,” someone commented.

“Congratulations on your husband Kayla. Your love shines through the screen!’ said another.

Kayla and Jae tied the knot in December 2023 after a two-year engagement, but their fairytale romance first blossomed under unusual circumstances.

From getting together just months after leaving their respective exes to Kayla’s subsequent feud with Jae’s ex-girlfriend, things weren’t always so simple.

Kayla debuted her relationship with personal trainer Jae on September 26, 2021, when the couple was spotted packing on the PDA outside a kebab shop in Adelaide.

The sighting happened just a few weeks after Kayla split from her ex-boyfriend, a videographer known only as “Mitch G.”

Earlier that month, ‘Mitch G’ was pictured packing his personal belongings into a moving van in front of Kayla’s house, confirming that their brief relationship was over.

Coincidentally, Jae also moved on with Kayla shortly after breaking up with his longtime ex-girlfriend Lauren, who also happened to be good friends with Kayla.

It is believed that Jae and Lauren started dating in 2016, as evidenced by the loved-up Instagram photos Lauren posted at the time.

The former couple’s last photos together were uploaded on May 23, 2021, after a night out with a group of friends, including Kayla.

In fact, a group photo taken during the outing shows Kayla, Jae, and Lauren all sitting next to each other.

Kayla and Jae debuted their romance four months later. Ny Breaking Australia does not suggest that either party has ever been disloyal.

Kayla declined to comment when contacted by Ny Breaking Australia, but her spokeswoman Sara Bergstrom said the “media story” suggesting Kayla and Lauren fell out over Jae “was false at the time, and [is] still false now’.
