Bodies of two fishermen swept off rocks at Kurnell in Sydney have been recovered following search

Two men have died after reportedly being washed off cliffs in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

NSW Police were called to Cape Solander Dr, Kurnell, following reports that two people had been washed into the ocean at 2.45pm on Monday.

It is clear that the men were fishing on rocks.

A search was launched with the assistance of Marine Area Command, Surf Life Savers and Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

NSW Police confirmed the two men were recovered from the water a short time later.

Officers performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics took over.

Unfortunately, both men could not be revived.

The two fishermen have yet to be formally identified.
