Two men have been rescued by relatives of one of them after being stranded in the Northern Territory outback days ago without food or water.

Andre Stiles and his friend Dean Overall-Jones got into trouble earlier this week after going on a fishing trip in Flat Rock, Claravale, west of Katherine.

Mr Stiles sent an emergency text message to his ex-girlfriend on Tuesday evening that read: ‘Please call 000. I’m stuck in Flat Rock near Edith Farms, been here for days without water or food.

‘I have no reception, call 000, no joke, please help.’

She passed on the message to Mr Stiles’ loved ones before his father Mark and brother Nathan rushed to the area on Tuesday evening in a desperate but failed attempt to find the pair.

When they returned to the scene on Wednesday morning, they managed to find Mr Stiles and Mr Overall-Jones alive but ‘extremely dehydrated’.

Another of Mr Stiles’ ex-partners and the mother of his child, Bobbie Toy, said the couple’s car had broken down.

“In the long run, we both did well, thank God,” she told the newspaper NT news.

“I’m stunned, I’ve been up all night.”

The pair had reportedly gone on a fishing expedition earlier this week.
