Popular children’s toy urgently recalled over choking hazard

A popular baby toy set sold in Target stores across Australia has been urgently recalled due to a potential choking hazard.

Product Safety Australia has recalled the Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set, specifically due to a choking hazard associated with the dumbbell toy.

“This product may not comply with the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months,” the recall notice states.

The gray caps on the ends of the dumbbell toy can be removed.

‘There is a risk of serious injury or death if you choke on the gray caps if they become detached from the dumbbell toy.

Customers are urged to return the product to the store where they purchased it or contact Mattel Customer Service to receive a refund.

The Baby Biceps Gift Set was sold in Target stores nationwide and at Toyworld Werribee in Victoria from September to December 2023.

The gift set includes a baby dumbbell, a sweatband, a protein shaker and a kettlebell.

Product Safety Australia issued a recall on Wednesday.

The recall concerns model number GJD49. The model number is located on the back of the kettlebell toy.

Parents and caregivers should immediately have children stop using the barbell.
