FIRST LOOK: Sex Education teases Otis and Maeve’s relationship status as they send each other raunchy nudes in new trailer after Netflix confirmed air date for show’s final season

Sex Education fans were treated to a brand new trailer on Tuesday, teasing that Otis Milburn and Maeve Wiley’s relationship status will finally be revealed.

It comes after Netflix revealed the show will end after its fourth season, which is released on September 21.

In the new clip, Maeve (Emma Mackey) sends Otis (Asa Butterfield) some raunchy photos.

Otis seemed happy and willing to do the same, but quickly became conflicted about how to respond.

As the trailer came to a close, Otis can be seen waiting for someone with a bouquet of flowers, leaving viewers wondering if he and Maeve will end up together.

Sex Education will end after its fourth season, which will be released on September 21.

Netflix announced the sad news on Wednesday, along with the first trailer for the final series.

The show debuted on the streaming platform in 2019 and proved very popular with viewers and critics alike.

In a letter to fans, creator, head writer and executive producer, Laurie Nunn said, “We have decided that the fourth season will also be the final installment of our show.

“This was not an easy decision, but as the themes and stories of the new season became clearer, it became clear that now was the right time to graduate.”

She continued: “We are incredibly proud of sex education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into creating every episode.

New Challenges: Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) will try something new in this series as she takes on an Art A Level

“They’ve worked tirelessly to bring you the latest series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

The season four plot reads: ‘After the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier: their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College.

‘Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, while Eric prays that they won’t be losers again.

‘But Cavendish is a culture shock for all Moordale students; they thought they were progressive, but this new college is on another level. There is daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability atmosphere and a group of children who are popular because they are… nice?!

‘Viv is completely shocked by the university’s student-led, non-competitive approach, while Jackson continues to struggle to get over Cal.

Is a reunion planned? The relationship between Adam (Connor Swindells) and his father (Alistair Petrie) broke down at the end of series three, but new scenes suggest the pair are patching things up

End: The new series will air on Netflix on September 21

‘Aimee is trying something new by taking an Art A-Level and Adam is struggling with whether regular education is for him.

‘In the US, Maeve is living her dream at the prestigious Wallace University, where she is taught by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis pines for her while adjusting to not being the only child at home, or the only therapist on campus…’

Asa Butterfield leads the show’s cast alongside Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Jim Howick, Rakhee Thakrar and Daniel Ings.
