First look at Nicole Kidman’s latest Netflix blockbuster from the makers of Shrek and Toy Story
Netflix has just released the first trailer for their awesome new animated film Spellbound.
The charming fantasy comedy musical premieres on the streaming giant on November 22 and features the voices of Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem.
The film is made by some of the filmmaking talent behind beloved family films such as Toy Story, Cars, A Bug’s Life and Shrek, and also stars West Side Story star Rachel Zegler.
And just like those classics, Spellbound promises to be a true spectacle for the whole family.
The story takes place in a ‘magical’ world called Lumbria and revolves around a teenage princess, Ellian (voiced by Rachel Zegler).
After her parents, Queen Ellsmere (voiced by Nicole Kidman) and King Solon (voiced by Javier Bardem), are turned into monsters by a “spell,” Ellian must find a way to save them and their kingdom from destruction.
The first trailer shows that fans can expect a lot of fun as Ellian goes on an adventure.
The teaser opens with the young princess explaining to two elders in the royal palace that she has “a problem” with her parents.

She then explains, “They went into the Dark Forest and when they came back they were different.”
After the king and queen emerge as giant monsters and terrorize everyone around them, one of the elders complains to Ellian, “I thought you were just being dramatic.”
“Why would I do that?” Ellian replies. “Because you’re a teenager,” he says.
Other spectacular scenes show the king and queen being captured and taken prisoner by the army.
Meanwhile, Ellian devises an escape plan for her parents.
Together, the family embarks on an adventure across the kingdom to break the spell so the king and queen can regain human form.
Other cast members include John Lithgow (The Crown), Nathan Lane (The Gilded Age), Jenifer Lewis (Rugrats) and Central Park star Titus Burgess.
Spellbound is directed by Shrek filmmaker Vicky Jenson and produced by John Lasseter, director of the beloved animated classic Toy Story (1995).
Co-producers include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bruce Anderson.
Rachel Zegler, 23, will play the lead role in Disney’s ‘woke’ Snow White remake.
The naive actress became the target of online criticism and hate after being cast in the new version of the classic, and she also began disparaging the original film in press interviews.

In a series of interviews that sparked outrage on social media, the young actress admitted she “hated” Disney’s original 1937 classic and its “stalker” Prince – whose “weird” storyline will not be seen in the new film.
She also said her film will take a new direction: “She won’t be saved by the prince and she won’t dream about true love.”
The story revolves around a teenage princess, Ellian (voiced by Zegler), who must find a way to break a curse that has turned her parents into “monsters.”
Zegler has been criticized from both sides, both for perpetuating “woke” culture and for being a “fake” feminist.
She was also criticized by haters for playing Snow White as a Latina. Both she and Disney responded to this backlash and defended the decision.
The American actress from New Jersey played the lead role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and the disaster comedy Y2K.
