An X-user with the handle @FirstGentleman has revealed he is on the edge of his seat over the election results, fearing he could lose his online username.
The man, known only as Mason, has used the name on X since 2009, but if Kamala Harris wins he faces a possible fight to keep it.
Should Kamala Harris defeat Donald Trump in the race for the White House, current Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will be moved up to First Gentleman.
Emhoff, 60, currently uses the X handle @SecondGentleman, as well as a second personal account — a win for his wife could see him try to take over the @FirstGentleman username.

His post has since been viewed more than 1.6 million times, with users leaving replies about how he should hold the username to make ransom demands.
One person commented: “Tell him to come with some money,” while another said: “So can they just take it, or do they have to pay you?”
Referring to Elon Musk, another said: ‘Maybe you can keep him after all. If she wins, the loser who owns the app might let you keep it out of spite.”
Musk is a strong supporter of Donald Trump, having appeared at a rally for the president and regularly supporting him on his social media platform X.
The first results of the elections are slowly being rolled out as polling stations across the country are closed.
Donald Trump has won in Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia, while Kamala Harris has won in Vermont.
The statements come as votes are counted in the crucial swing state of Georgia, where polls closed at 7 p.m.
Georgia is one of the seven key battleground states that will decide the elections.
In an exit poll, 46 percent of Georgia voters said they had a positive image of Trump. And 49 percent said they had a positive view of Harris.

In Georgia, 52 percent of voters said their family’s financial situation was worse than four years ago, the exit poll showed.
Trump has also soared on the betting markets, while Harris’ odds of winning have fallen.
According to Kalshi, his chances of winning the election are now 66 percent, compared to her 34 percent.
There was also a sudden surge of support for Trump on the prediction site Predicit, where he now leads Harris by 16 points.
In Britain, company Betfair has Trump at its lowest odds since July – with a stake of $2.5 million after the exit polls.
Harris’ chances have fallen, with spokesman Sam Rosbottom adding: ‘We expect many more to follow as the evening progresses. This market is very volatile and it would not be a surprise if the odds continue to rise.”
