First Dates host Fred Sirieix has canceled his reality show, Fred’s Last Resort, from the channel after it aired for one series earlier this year.

The show saw Fred send 12 young Britons to the French Riviera to run a luxury hotel and the best of the group won a top job and a cash prize.
The individual must have met the demands of the high clientele and the demands of their work environment in order to make it to the end of the summer.
The show was a reference to Fred’s training, learning his craft as a host in the French Riviera, before becoming a household name.

A Channel 4 spokesperson confirmed the ax in a statement: “Each year Channel 4, like all broadcasters, make decisions about which shows to rest, return or close to ensure we are always innovating and offering viewers the best offerings.”
“The decision not to reopen Fred’s Last Resort was not a financial one.”
Last month it was announced that Channel 4 had decided not to renew the popular daytime series Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas.
The show, led by Kirstie Allsopp, is being given a year’s rest as part of cost-cutting efforts in response to the broadcaster’s declining advertising revenues.

“I know it’s not personal,” she told Deadline. “We all deal with different things at different times. Hopefully the advertising market will improve and we’ll be back.’

Kirstie also revealed that she and Phil Spencer, her regular presenter of long-running Channel 4 shows Location, Location, Location and Love It Or List It, signed a new two-year deal in March.
