The fire that engulfed the mansion of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly resulted in millions of dollars worth of damages.

Hill's house went up in flames last week and firefighters tried to extinguish it as quickly as possible last Wednesday.

Documents obtained by TMZ Sports say the house – which had an estimated value of $5.6 million before the fire – suffered $2.3 million in damage.

Hill purchased the property in 2022 for a reported $6.9 million.

In addition, a number of items with a total value of approximately $1 million were destroyed as a result of the inferno.

Authorities say the cause of the fire was likely due to a child playing with a lighter.

Officials say a four-year-old child believed the lighter “was a toy and accidentally set fire to (another) toy.”

“They got scared,” officials said, “threw the toys and ran off.”

No one was injured in the fire and Hill was not home at the time. He was pictured returning to the property the next day, holding hands with his wife Keeta Vaccaro at around 3pm to inspect the damage.

Speaking to 7News, Hill's agent said of his client: “It's obviously very difficult for anyone to have your house catch on fire… but Hill handled it with as much poise as you could hope for.”

Hill played in Miami's final regular season game of the year against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night – tallying 82 yards and a touchdown in a 21-14 loss.

He is the highest-paid wide receiver in the league after signing a four-year, $120 million contract ($30 million per year) in 2022.
