Financial investment giants Carlyle ‘are in talks to make a major investment in Manchester United’ as Glazer’s deadline for takeover bids approaches…with private equity firm interested in acquiring a ‘minority stake’ at Old Trafford
- The US private equity firm is among the bidders who have made a bid
- The Glazer’s recently invited potential buyers to a third round of bidding
US financial investment giant Carlyle is reportedly in talks to make a ‘major investment’ in Manchester United.
It was reported earlier this week that a third and final round of bidding on United will take place, with the best offers before the end of the month.
And it now appears that private equity firm, with assets worth £298bn, is one of the leading candidates to acquire a ‘minority stake’ in the Red Devils.
According to sky news, the Nasdaq-listed investment giant has been in talks to invest in Old Trafford as the deadline for Glazer’s offers approaches.
The same outlet claims that Carlyle’s interest in United is “serious” and that the company has been in talks with club officials for some time.
