Fifi Box says undergoing IVF to conceive her second daughter was more important than finding a man to start a family with: ‘Motherhood is all I really care about’
Fifi Box has revealed that motherhood is her top priority in life, and her decision to undergo IVF to conceive her second child was more important than finding love.
The Fox FM presenter who gave birth to three-year-old daughter Daisy to an anonymous sperm donor tells this week’s issue of Stellar magazine that she didn’t “have the luxury of finding the right time” when it came to family expansion.
Motherhood is everything. It’s the only thing I really care about,” the 45-year-old confessed.
“When Trixie was two and I was 38, 39, all of a sudden I went, ‘Wait a minute, I want more kids.’ I would love that.’
“I was faced with what I imagine many women in their mid to late 30s, especially those who are single, face: How is that going to happen?”

In the end, Fifi was more concerned with having more children than finding a man to give her that opportunity.
‘It was a revelation. I thought, I have the rest of my life to fall in love, but I don’t have the rest of my life to have this baby,” she said.
So going on that IVF journey to have Daisy became a real priority. Quite literally.’
Fifi previously revealed on her radio show Fifi, Fev & Nick that the process was “brutal” and “eye-opening.”
She went on to say that she only had a seven percent chance of getting pregnant when she went through the process and considers Daisy a “gift.”
The Fox FM presenter, who had three-year-old daughter Daisy with the help of an anonymous sperm donor, says she “didn’t have the luxury of finding the right time” when it came to expanding the family and thought having another child was more important than find a husband
“It was unbelievably eye-opening because it was brutal. This is what we’re not necessarily taught in school is the decline in the health of your eggs from about 33.35 – it deteriorates at a rate of knots,” she told her co-hosts.
Box, who also shares her nine-year-old daughter Trixie with ex-partner Grant Kenny, had a total of 33 eggs collected with only three embryos making it out with the donor sperm.
‘The quality of my eggs had deteriorated so much. Freeze your eggs, it’s harder to hit your late thirties and start freezing your eggs,” she warned.
She continued, “I would go to the clinic and there are endless boxes of tissues. I would see couples, you would see women just going through cycle after cycle distraught.
‘It was a revelation. I thought, I have the rest of my life to fall in love, but I don’t have the rest of my life to have this baby,” she said
“I thought, I’d rather have another baby than anything.” I’ve got the rest of my life to fall in love, I didn’t have the rest of my life to have a baby.”
Fifi announced her second pregnancy in February 2019, stating she was filled with “sheer joy” over her “miracle” baby.
Box and Kenny, 55, a former Ironman, split in 2012 after a brief romance. A few months later, the radio star gave birth to Trixie.
She only publicly confirmed that Kenny was Trixie’s father when the child was three years old.
