FIFA FINALLY allows a referee from a ‘OneLove’ country to take part in the World Cup, with Germany’s Daniel Siebert set to take the lead in Tunisia against Australia

FIFA has finally given a match to a referee from a ‘OneLove’ country, the day after Sportsmail asked the World Cup organizers why they were dismissing those officials.

Germany’s Daniel Siebert will oversee Tunisia against Australia on Saturday, the 21st match of this World Cup.

The English referees Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor, and Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands, will continue to wait for their first assignments in Qatar.

Questions were put to FIFA about their contempt for Oliver, Taylor, Makkelie and Siebert.

Seven ‘OneLove’ countries – England, Wales, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands – put their names to last week’s statement criticizing FIFA for banning the bracelets that are supposed to signify anti-discrimination.

Some referees are now taking charge of their second games of this World Cup, with Italy’s Daniele Orsato, who oversaw the opener between Qatar and Ecuador, being selected for Argentina against Mexico tonight.
