In Fields of Mistriathere are quite a few romantic characters who you can seduce by giving them gifts. You will meet these characters in your daily life and those who want to go to that romance quickly should know exactly what to give them.
Please note that while there may be romantic candidates who may talk to you a little flirtatiously, there is currently no dating or marriage in this early access phase of the game. Romance candidates have special cutscenes that unlock once you reach a certain number of hearts with them, but that’s it for now. More cutscenes, dating, marriage, and even having children are all features planned for future updates.
Below we list all available options for romance in Fields of Mistriaand also some of the easiest to get early game items to give them to convince them. Note that our list not a complete list of their favorite and loved items, but rather a list of the items that you can obtain before other items.
Marriage Candidates and Easy Gifts in Mistria
At the time of writing, there are 10 candidates for a romance in Fields of Mistriaalthough more will be added later.
Adeline is actually the one in charge of Mistria, as she is the daughter of the city’s barons. She is the one who sends you tasks to help restore the city.
Early in the game you can get her tulips (spring) and peaches (summer), to strengthen your relationship with her. You can pick tulips on the map and peaches grow on a tree in The Narrows.
She likes peaches and creamwhich is made from peaches (picked in the summer), milk and sugar. (Her brother, Eiland, also likes peaches and cream, so it would be helpful for both of them to stock up on it!) She also likes coffeewhich you can buy from Balor’s cart or the Sleeping Dragon’s Inn for 100 Tesserae, depending on their stock for that day. You can also buy it from Darcy during the Saturday Market.
Balor is a cunning traveling merchant who will help you ship your goods.
You can give Balor early on rubieswhich are located in the early levels of the mines (levels 1-19). He also likes sapphiresAnd emeraldsthe other gemstones found on later floors.
For a slightly more sophisticated gift, he’ll also love perfect versions of the gemstones above, such as perfect rubies, perfect sapphiresand the like.
Celine is a gentle girl who studies plants and loves nature. She is also the daughter of the owners of the general store.
Celine loves flowers, which makes her one of the easiest characters to build a relationship with. She loves every flower you can collect, including lilacs, tulips, dandelionsAnd daisies —which you will find in abundance in spring and summer.
She likes hydrangeaswhich are common in summer on the map of the Eastern Road, east of Mistria.
Eiland is the son of the city’s barons and is more focused on archaeology than his sister, often helping out in the museum.
Unfortunately, Eiland is one of the hardest marriage candidates to convince, as he really only likes and enjoys cooked food. He likes candied strawberrieswhich you can cook with strawberries (grown in spring) and sugar. You can also buy them randomly from Balor’s cart for 250 Tesserae.
Island loves strawberry shortcakewhich is not unlocked as a recipe until a while later, but can be purchased randomly from Balor’s Cart and the Sleeping Dragon Inn for 600 Tesserae each.
Hayden is your neighbor to the west of your farm who also owns a farm. He specializes in animal care and you buy animals through him.
That being said, Hayden likes most animal byproducts, including eggs, cow’s milk, butterAnd cheese — all items you can get early on when you start keeping animals.
Hayden loves the perfect versions of the above products, which means it’s a little harder to get him gifts that he’ll love, but once your animals start producing things like golden eggs And golden cow’s milkyou should be able to win his heart easily. Once you start collecting shiny beads from caring from animals (which requires you to unlock the Currency of Care ranching skill), you can trade these beads with the chicken state at Hayden’s house for a chance to get these golden items, which will help you get them much sooner than you normally would.
Juniper is a sorceress who runs the bathhouse in Mistria. She also helps you unravel some of the mysteries behind the town’s magic (or lack thereof).
She likes witchy things like frogs and mushrooms. The easiest things to get to give her are red mushroomswhich can be obtained by killing the red mushroom enemies on the early floros of the mines (floors 1-19). She also likes sample powderwhich also fall from mine enemies.
On the other hand, Juniper’s beloved items are a bit more difficult. The first recipe you can cook for her that she loves is moon fruit cakewhich is unlocked after you complete a request for Juniper where she asks for moonfruit. Moonfruit is only picked in the fall, so stock up while you can. She also likes crystal roseswhich can be found as collectibles in the deep part of the mine (floors 41-59).
March is a bit of a grumpy guy and he is the town blacksmith. You often see him and his older brother around town.
He is another suitor that you can easily appease. He likes ore and ingots, and if you have worked in the mines, you will have plenty of those. All ores and bars are suitable.
He likes perfect ores, like perfect copper oreso if you have extra you can use those too.
Reina is the daughter of the innkeeper and she helps her family run the inn. She is the head chef at the inn and she is a bit of a foodie.
Most of the things she likes involve food, but she also appreciates the simpler ingredients, such as cheese, flour, riceAnd sugarThat said, the mill must be unlocked to process milk, wheat, rice stalks, and sugar cane respectively – or you can purchase sugar for 115 Tesserae from the general store.
Reina is another candidate who is primarily interested in food, so her beloved items can be hard to obtain. The earliest recipe you can get is coleslawwhich requires cabbage (grown in spring) and fennel (picked in spring). She also likes breaded catfishwhich isn’t all that bad to make once you unlock the recipe via the message board mission.
Ryis is a carpenter/woodworker who helps you build sheds, expand your house and all that sort of stuff.
The items he likes are quite simple and easy to obtain: wood, clayAnd stone. If you’ve done even a little bit of cleaning up on your farm, you probably have a lot of this stuff, so you should consider giving some to Ryis if you want to win his heart.
Ryis’s most beloved items are gold versions of food and animal by-products, but he also likes hardwoodwhich you can get by chopping down the huge stumps you see around Mistria (and on your farm). You will need a copper axe to chop these down though.
Valen is the town doctor, who you won’t actually see that often, as long as you play it safe and go to bed at 2am.
She is a bit harder to appease with her favorite items. The easiest thing to give her is seaweedwhich can be found by diving in the ocean on those dark bubbling spots that appear. She also likes dandelionswhich can be collected in the spring.
Like some others, her favorite items are mainly cooked dishes. We recommend deep sea soupwhich is made from three items you can find on the middle floors of the mines (floors 21-39): jade dulse, mine clams, and underseaweed.
