FFXIV Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeon route guide

Put Rokkon away is the new Variant Dungeon in FFXIV. Like the previous Variant Dungeon, The Sil’dihn underground, you have 12 routes to discover and complete alone or with a party. You get the Burabura Chochin mount for your efforts.

Play detective as you climb a mountain, where you must figure out what to do to find all the paths. From solving a puzzle to opening a hidden door to being smart to avoid an ambush, there are several ways to unlock a new path.

To get the chance to climb Mount Rokkon, you must have a character with you level 90 and have completed the main scenario quest “Endwalker”. Then you should go to Old Sharlayan to talk to Shallow Moor bee X: 12.0 J: 13.3.

Shallow Moor gives you the quest “Mononoke Conscious,” which unlocks Mount Rokkon. You can do it alone or with a party. To party with other players you need at least an item level of 605.

Unlocking a new path gives you access to more than just a new piece of the place’s story. All major battles are different as all bosses perform different sequences of attacks and mechanics depending on which route you are on.

After completing all 12 paths, all you have to do is claim the Burabura Chochin Whistle in the Performance menu to get the holder.

Path 1: cut above the restless

  1. Take the left portal.
  2. Defeat the three groups of enemies.
  3. Beat up Yozakura the volatile mini-boss.
  4. Defeat more enemies.
  5. In the room with the statues of Suzaku and Seiryu, interact only with the aegis glass in the center.
  6. Fight more enemies in the next rooms
  7. Before going upstairs, communicate with the katana case and choose the option to close the lid.
  8. In the next room, beat up Moko the Restless, the final boss of this dungeon.

Path 2: The Crimson Sword

  1. Take the left portal.
  2. Fight the three groups of enemies your way.
  3. Beat up Yozakura the Fleeting. Depending on the weather, the mechanics of this boss change.
  4. Defeat more enemies to open the path for you.
  5. In the room where you find Suzaku and Seiryu statues, interact only with the aegis glass in the center.
  6. Proceed through the next rooms and defeat the enemies you encounter.
  7. In the room with the stairs, to ignore the Katana Case and proceed to the next area.
  8. Battle Moko the Restless to complete the dungeon.

Path 3: A story about dead men

  1. Take the left portal.
  2. Proceed through the next section and defeat the enemies to open the path.
  3. Beat up Yozakura the Fleeting. Depending on the weather, the mechanics of this boss change.
  4. Defeat more enemies.
  5. In the room with the Suzaku Seiryu statues, rotate them like this Suzaku faces south and Seiryu faces east. Before interacting with the auspice glass, they must be placed as shown in the figure below.
  6. Exit the door to your left and defeat the enemies on the roof.
  7. In the next room, make sure you let Shishu Apa – the blue-floating enemy – complete the throw of Water IIIturn off the lanterns in the room.
  8. Go upstairs to fight Moko the Restless.

Path 4: Forging a Legacy

  1. Take the left portal.
  2. Defeat the three groups of enemies you encounter.
  3. Battle Yozakura the Volatile. This mini-boss uses different attacks and mechanisms depending on the weather.
  4. Defeat more enemies.
  5. In the room with the statues, you have to rotate them to leave Suzaku on the south and Seiryu on the east. This is how you communicate with the Auspice glass open a door on your left.
  6. Fight the group of enemies on the roof.
  7. In the next room, you must interrupt Shishu Apa when the Water III starts to pourcausing all the lanterns to burn.
  8. Keep fighting Moko the Restless.

Path 5: The luthier and the singer

  1. Enter the portal middle.
  2. You have to fight three groups of enemies to get to the next area.
  3. In front of Shojo Temple, pull the woven rope before opening the door.
  4. Beat up Yozakura the Fleeting.
  5. Move forward and defeat all the enemies you encounter.
  6. When you talk to Shishu White Baboonchoose the “Very good – we have a deal” dialog option.
  7. Defeat Gorai the Uncaged in the next area to complete this path.

Path 6: Lost by Greed

  1. Start by going through the portal in the middle.
  2. Defeat all enemies in your path.
  3. Before opening the door to Shojo Temple, pull the woven rope.
  4. Defeat Yozaruka the Fleeting.
  5. Keep going and defeat enemies.
  6. Now, when talking to Shishu White Baboonyou must select the “Give me a minute to think…” choice. After defeating the baboon, go to the next area.
  7. Beat up Gorai the Uncaged.

Path 7: Beyond the light of the lanterns

  1. Enter the portal middle.
  2. Defeat the enemies.
  3. When you are in front of the Shojo Temple, just open the door. Do not pull on the woven rope.
  4. Beat up Yozaruka the Volatile.
  5. Keep moving forward and defeating enemies.
  6. After defeating Shishu Yoko, the white tiger, don’t open the door near where Hancock goes. Instead of, you have to climb the boxes on the left side of the room and continue until you reach the top floor as shown in the image below.
  7. Pull the Woven Rope can be found on the top floor.
  8. Fight the three lanterns.
  9. Defeat Gorai the Uncaged.

Path 8: the courage of the common man

  1. Start taking the right portal.
  2. Defeat the enemies your way.
  3. After the third group of enemies you will find the dogu. Don’t deal with it. Just keep moving forward.
  4. Battle Yozakura the Volatile.
  5. If you walk up the next path you will find four Stones of protection. Communicate with them brush away the moss and detritus.
  6. Defeat more enemies.
  7. Beat up Shishio, the final boss of this path.

Path 9: Sound of the stone

  1. Take the right portal.
  2. Defeat some groups of enemies.
  3. Ignore dog when it is found by Hancock. Just move on to the next area.
  4. Beat up Yozakura the Fleeting.
  5. As you progress through the next section, no interaction with the Stones of Protection.
  6. Clear the area and defeat all enemies.
  7. Fight Shishio.

Path 10: The seal of silence

  1. Take the right portal.
  2. Defeat the enemies in the following sections.
  3. you must pick up dogu, the clay figure when Hancock finds it after the third group of enemies.
  4. Beat up Yozaruka the Volatile.
  5. Fight more enemies.
  6. After you find a fence with a small shrine next to it, that’s what you need to do ignore the first And use the Eastern Bow emote (/east arc or /e arc) for the latter.
  7. Defeat more enemies.
  8. After reaching a dead end, you will see an Ancient Tree and an Iwakura in front of you. Interact with the Iwakura use as a bridge.
  9. Beat up Shishio.

Path 11: Seasons of the Evanescent

  1. Start with the right portal.
  2. Fight the enemies you encounter in the first few sections.
  3. When you find dogyou have to interact with it pick it up.
  4. Defeat Yozaruka the Fleeting.
  5. Continue to the next section and defeat enemies your way.
  6. When you come across a rickety fence, you have to ignore it. Instead, go to the small shrine next to it and use the Eastern Bow emote (/east arc or /e arc) before it.
  7. Fight more enemies.
  8. When the path ends, interaction with the Old Tree use it to reach the other side.
  9. Defeat Shishio.

Path 12: The Fate of the Ogiseru

  1. Go to the portal in the middle.
  2. Fight the groups of enemies your way.
  3. Do not pull on the woven rope that is for the Shojo Temple. Just open the door to continue.
  4. Defeat Yozaruka the Fleeting.
  5. Defeat more enemies.
  6. Now, after defeating the Shishu Yoko, the white tiger, you should not open the next door which Hancock stays for. You should repeat the process of climbing the boxes as you did in Path 7.
  7. Once on the top floor, pull the woven rope.
  8. In the next section, when the three lanterns spawn, don’t kill them. You should lure them to the room where you fought the white tiger.
  9. In this room, there are three lanterns on the ground standing in front of gold tapestries as shown in the image below. You can light them by killing one of the enemies you lured as he faces the lantern. Don’t forget to place them correctly and avoid hitting more than one enemy.
  10. After the three lanterns are lit, take the new portal to face the final boss of Mount Rokkon.
