“Symptom I didn’t know was a sign of hormonal imbalance… waking up every night to pee,” she wrote in the on-screen text.

“It’s not the water, folks,” she added in the caption.

Most people can go six to eight hours a night without having to go to the toilet.

The antidiuretic hormone (ADH) regulates the amount of water your kidneys retain, and its levels rise when you sleep, according to Geisinger.

However, if your ADH levels don’t rise as much as they should, it can lead to nocturia: the need to wake up during the night to urinate.

Nocturia is not a disease, but it can be a symptom of other underlying conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney problems and sleep disorders.

Hormonal imbalances such as low estrogen levels are also linked to increased frequency of urination during bedtime, according to the researchers. Right as Rain from UW Medicine.

Many people were stunned by the information and admitted that they wake up several times a night to urinate.

β€œI don’t wake up 3-4 times a night,” one person wrote.

Someone else said they go at β€œ4am like clockwork.”

‘So my hormones are in balance? I drink a glass of water before going to bed and never get up during my sleep. No matter how long I sleep,” another boasted.

Others implored Welsh to share more information, but she has not yet posted a follow-up video on the subject.

β€œAre you going to make us wait for an explanation or laugh at our shock,” asked a concerned viewer.
