Ferne McCann reveals she plans to ditch reality TV for good after Dancing On Ice and create an ‘acting legacy’ – including a biopic of her life starring Florence Pugh!
Ferne McCann says she has set her sights on acting and plans to leave the complicated world of reality TV behind after her stint on Dancing On Ice.
The TV personality, who found fame in 2013 with The Only Way Is Essex, quit her ITV show My Family And Me last year after previously appearing in Celebrity: SAS Who Dares Wins and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Now Ferne hopes to leave reality TV behind as she wants to ‘explore acting opportunities’ and ‘create a film legacy’.
The mother-of-two also said she hopes to delve into production and make a film of her life story – starring Hollywood actress Florence Pugh.
She told me The mirror: ‘In 2025 I will explore acting opportunities. I would like to do something really cool and produce something and create a film legacy, maybe a film of my life, why not.
‘I have a good story to tell, and I would like to participate in it. Maybe Florence Pugh can play me. I love her. I’ve already done a non-West End gig in Gatsby and I’ve always loved performing, so Dancing On Ice gives me that opportunity to perform.”

Ferne previously worked with Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper on Drama vs Reality in 2021, which gave her a taste of the industry.
She added: ‘It was incredible. I actually fired a machine gun from a helicopter. It was sensational and Tom said that out of all the reality stars who filmed that commercial, I was the one he would work with again and that I would make a pretty good action star, look out for Lara Croft.”
It comes after Ferne fought back tears as daughter Sunday watched her make her Dancing on Ice debut on Sunday night.
Ferne’s show Ferne McCann: My Family & Me ended last year after 13 series and she confessed that this was the ‘perfect time’ to participate in the skating show.
The reality star was the second star to take to the ice with her professional partner Brendyn Hatfield as they performed to Lily Allen’s song, Somewhere Only We Know.
Ferne got through without a stumble or stumble and the panel praised her debut, scoring her a respectable 26.5.
But as they spoke, host Stephen Mulhern noted Ferne was emotional and fighting back tears.
She said: ‘I feel very emotional, I have little tears. I’m just so happy, I really enjoyed it.’

Ferne admitted she was struggling to keep it together before Stephen pointed out that her daughter, aged six, was watching in the audience on Sunday.
She replied, “I tried not to look at her because I think that made me even better. Aww, I’m fighting back tears. I’m so happy.’
Ferne was joined on the show by Mollie Pearce, Sir Steve Redgrave, Sam Aston, Charlie Brooks, Josh Jones and Anton Ferdinand.
The likes of Chelsee Healey, Dan Edgar, Chris Taylor and Michaela Strachan are also competing to be crowned the winner of the ITV show.
Ferne is a proud mum to daughter Sunday, six, who she welcomed from a previous relationship with Arthur Collins and also shares 18-month-old son Finty with businessman fiance Lorri Haines.
It comes after Ferne opened up in a chat with MailOnline about the ‘trust’ she has with her ‘supportive’ professional skating partner Brendyn.
In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Ferne explained: ‘I completely entrust my life to Brendan, without any pressure, but you need that. I have felt that support from the beginning and it is so needed because it is scary.

‘I really enjoyed it, but there’s a huge block of fear that I’ve been trying to break through.
“And it’s great to have someone who has confidence in you.”
She continued, “Skating in the studio for the first time was surreal. I got really emotional. I spent three months learning to skate and to get to this point, it’s just insane.
‘I found it very frustrating at first. I told the coaches I just couldn’t get it. And I had doubts about what I had signed up for.”
