Fernando Collard, 33, is arrested after teenage girl was allegedly raped at Coogee Beach in Perth
A 33-year-old man accused of raping a teenage girl at a popular beach was charged over the alleged toilet attack while already in police custody.
Father-of-one Fernando Collard faced the Northbridge Magistrates Court on Sunday following the alleged assault at Coogee Beach, south Perth, on Friday.
Collard was already wanted by police on charges of criminal damage during an aggravated armed robbery in Maddington last August and driving without a license in September.
He was arrested by police on Saturday in connection with last year’s alleged crimes and was later charged with sexual penetration without consent and breaching bail.
It is alleged Collard dragged a young girl into the men’s toilet block at Coogee Beach and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene at around 2.10pm on Friday.

WA police have released CCTV footage of the alleged perpetrator
The toilet block was just a few meters from the sand and the car park.
Western Australia police have released a CCTV photo of a man they say could assist the investigation, as well as a description.
It described the man as having an olive or dark complexion, between 30 and 35 years old and with tattoos on his neck and shoulder.
Officers believe he had been on the beach and jetty with another man and a young boy before the alleged attack.
Collard was charged with the alleged rape early on Sunday morning and appeared briefly before Northbridge Magistrates Court the same day.
He did not apply for bail and was ordered to spend the next two weeks behind bars.
He is expected to appear at the Armadale Magistrates Court later this month.
