Turkish side Fenerbahce are reportedly looking to 'strengthen their squad' by signing Man United striker Anthony Martial.

It comes a day after Erik ten Hag stated that the club was in talks with the French striker about a contract extension.

According to Turkish outlet TakvimFenerbahce are interested in a move for Martial and have submitted an initial offer of £6.8 million (€8 million) to sign the 28-year-old.

The newspaper also claims that the Super Lig side are hopeful they can use their 'good relationship' with United to secure a cheap deal.

“The yellow-dark blue team wants to add Martial to their selection with a low transfer fee, taking advantage of the good relations that have been built with the English giant,” writes Takvim.

The clubs have swapped players in the past, with United recently selling Fred to the Turkish Cup winners in the summer, while the Red Devils signed goalkeeper Altay Bayindir from the Yellow Canaries in the same window.

Fenerbahce are also hoping to seal a 'low fee' for Martial, noting his contract with United expires in the summer.

The 28-year-old joined Old Trafford from Monaco in 2015, where the forward scored 90 goals and 55 assists in 317 appearances for the Red Devils.

He spent five months on loan at Sevilla in 2022 but failed to impress at the LaLiga club, scoring just once in 12 appearances in all competitions.

There has been much speculation over whether he would stay or leave, with West Ham, Inter Milan and Fenerbahce all previously linked to sign him.
