A 35-year-old female teacher from Louisiana is under arrest after being accused of sending nude photos to her students and having sex with at least one of them.
Police had been investigating Alexa Wingerter since early March when authorities received complaints that she was having inappropriate relationships with male students.
Wingerter was a teacher at Slidell High School, a public school with about 1,700 students.
Through interviews and search warrants, it was discovered that Wingerter sent inappropriate photos and messages to the students on social media.
They even found sources that said Wingerter was purchasing alcohol for her underage students at local bars.

Most damning, they found enough evidence that Wingerter had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student while she was teaching him.
Wingerter’s employers, the St. Tammany School Board, released a statement after the arrest.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Our district responded appropriately and is fully cooperating with the Slidell Police Department in their investigation,” said Chief Frank Jabbia.
“Any allegations of inappropriate behavior are taken very seriously and reported directly to law enforcement officials.”
“We have strict policies in place to ensure that behavior that endangers the safety of our students will not be tolerated.”

Wingerter was charged with suspicion of prohibited sexual conduct between a teacher and a student and the unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages on behalf of a person under 21 years of age. WDSU.
