Female prison officer ‘filmed having sex with inmate at HMP Wandsworth’ insists ‘you don’t know my side of the story’ as she faces trial accused of misconduct in a public office
A female prison officer who was filmed having sex with a prisoner in a Wandsworth cell has broken her silence, insisting people must not know her side of the story, while the whole incident has left her “heartbroken”.
Linda De Sousa Abreu revealed in a video on social media that others had also tried to profit financially from her ‘accident’. She accused the media of ‘sensationalizing’ the shocking video that went viral.
She said, “I hope you understand that this is going to be an awkward and uncomfortable conversation. I just thought I really needed to come here and clarify a lot of things.
‘The first thing I noticed was that there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of fake profiles of me trying to make money from my misfortune.
‘The scandal that the whole world got involved in one way or another. I didn’t make a f***ing bit of money from it. This is my only social media platform and I just activated it.’
Linda De Sousa Abreu broke her silence on social media for the first time since appearing in court over the alleged incident
Ms De Sousa Abreu appeared in Uxbridge Magistrates Court earlier this month charged with misconduct in public office
She added: ‘So if you come across any fake profiles of me asking for money, please don’t fall for it. There are a lot of fake GoFundMes and OnlyFans accounts of mine that aren’t mine and I apologize if you fell for it.
‘Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize.
‘But I do want to emphasize that this is my only social media account, and I’m just starting it.
“I felt it was very important to address this tasteless topic, namely that the creators of OnlyFans are posing as me and recreating the scenario of the scandal in which I am involved.”
Ms De Sousa Abreu sounded emotional and angry as she said in the Instagram video: ‘It is very, very inappropriate for you to advertise yourself as me or make money off of OF content.
‘It disrupts my process, but it’s also incredibly tasteless.
‘If you are an OF maker, please do not tag the prison. We all know the name of the prison.
‘Please don’t tag HMP Wandsworth in your stupid videos. There are other prisons in the world, you don’t have to pretend to be me.’
Former prison guard Ms De Sousa Abreu was seen earlier this month carrying a large suitcase and hiding her face as she left court

She stared intently into the camera and continued to insist, “Finally, I want to tell you that you don’t know my side of the story.
‘The media has a great way of twisting a story to their advantage.
‘The media wants every story to be sensational and salacious, and they sensationalize everything.
“You don’t know my side of the story and we’ll leave it at that for now.”
As Ms De Sousa Abreu appeared to be concluding her statement, she decided to go further, lashing out at people she considered friends and who “supported her”.
She fumed: ‘Actually, now that I’m here, this needs to be addressed too. You don’t know who you have, who your real friends are until the shit hits the fan.
‘Honestly, family and friends, you have to choose them very carefully.
‘Of course everyone knows that my mobile phone number has been leaked, there are people doing business behind my back.
‘The media literally follows me everywhere. I can’t even go to Greggs or Primark without being photographed. It’s really annoying.’
She shouted: ‘Often it’s people you thought were behind you, but they’re not.’
“That’s really heartbreaking. On top of all of this, on top of everything, that’s really heartbreaking.
‘So that’s just advice for everyone: choose very carefully who you have around you.’
Ms De Sousa Abreu has been charged with misconduct and appeared at Uxbridge Crown Court earlier this month.
The shocking clip shows the 30-year-old wearing a uniform and beginning a sex act as she confronts an unknown inmate at a category B prison in south-west London.
The footage, which MailOnline understands is recent, then appears to show her having sex with the prisoner while his cellmate films on a mobile phone. Footage from the cell shows a TV and piles of clothing stacked across a bunk bed.
A friend who is smoking during the recording says, ‘Guys, we made history, this is what I want to tell you.’
The prison guard’s radio, which sits on a side table, crackles constantly. Her colleagues on the other channels can be heard above the noise of the prisoners on the landing, who are unaware of what is happening in the cell.
At one point, someone appears to be trying to enter the cell. You hear the man filming say to the person on the other side of the door, “Give me a minute, a second.”
The prisoner filming tells his friend to keep going, turns the camera around briefly and says with a grin: ‘That’s how we do things in Wandsworth.’
Then he says to his friend who is having sex: ‘You know you’re a gangster!’
After the video went viral, MailOnline revealed that the woman in the video was Mrs De Sousa Abreu, who reportedly recently quit her job as a prison officer at the South London prison following the scandal.
