Fears Taylor Swift could miss a major Australian city on The Eras Tour

Heartbreak for Australian Swifties: Fear Taylor Swift Could Miss A Major Aussie City On The Eras Tour — So Are You Missing Out?

Will Taylor Swift skip Brisbane when she brings her Eras Tour to Australia?

Music industry insiders are confident Swift will only have a short string of dates when she tours Down Under early next year, the Courier Mail.

The 33-year-old Anti-Hero singer may have only been able to play in two east coast cities, Sydney and Melbourne, before moving to New Zealand.

Brisbane ‘Swifties’ may have to fly south to see their idol perform her epic three-hour show featuring 44 songs from her back catalogue.

While it’s not uncommon for major international artists to skip the west coast due to time or travel restrictions, it’s rare for someone of Swift’s stature to skip Queensland altogether.

While Australian promoter Live Nation has yet to confirm dates for The Eras Tour, Swift is believed to be performing at Melbourne’s MCG and Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

The superstar will arrive in Sydney in January before heading to Melbourne next month, according to sources at multiple locations and ticket agency Ticketek.

The Shake It Off star is expected to play at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of 100,000. If she sells out, which she almost certainly will, it will be one of the biggest shows of her career, reports the Shameless podcast.

It is unclear when tickets for her Australian and New Zealand tour will go on sale, but Ticketek has set up a waiting list on its website.

“We spoke to another well-placed source at the MCG who said dates have been booked for February,” Shameless host Zara McDonald said on TikTok in March.

“It sounds like it will be late February or early March and Taylor has looked at what Ed Sheeran was doing with his dates and saw that the public’s approval rating was really high and they were really enjoying it and she’s doing the same thing in 2024.

“So watch dates, it looks like she’s coming to us.”

Industry sources shared further details about the Australian tour during a Q&A on Shameless’ Instagram Stories.

January for Sydney! Best kept secret in the industry,” claimed one follower.

“Know someone who works for Ticketek, tickets on sale at the end of April,” said another.

A follower noted that Taylor often tours in December, but the Shameless team said it will more likely be early 2024, before the start of the AFL and NRL seasons.
