Fears Nicole Kidman is going to suffer a ‘burnout’ as she ‘throws herself into even more work’ and signs on to another release to deal with her grief over losing her mother

Nicole Kidman has sparked fears she may be suffering from ‘burnout’ after throwing herself into work with a packed filming schedule.

The Australian actress, 57, has dominated the screens recently and has already filmed four major Hollywood projects, all of which are set to hit the screens this year, delivering an impressive performance.

She has also already signed on for another project, the upcoming six-part crime series Scarpetta, as she shows no signs of slowing down from her career peak.

However, her busy schedule is said to have raised concerns that she could suffer ‘burnout’ if she overextended herself with the releases and their extensive press tours.

A source claimed that people are especially concerned about Nicole as she is also currently dealing with her grief following the death of her mother Janelle.

Janelle died last month at the age of 84 – just hours before Nicole won best actress for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.

“Nicole still looks as amazing as ever, but she’s been through so much and she seems to be dealing with her grief by throwing herself into work,” a source told Woman’s Day magazine.

‘There are times when she sleeps more on a plane than in a bed. Everyone’s worried about her.’

The source claimed that Nicole will have to delve into some “dark places” to play the titular role in the intense crime drama Scarpetta, adding to worries for the star.

‘Nicole insists she is doing fine, but her schedule is non-stop. There is a lot of expectation that she will break away from Scarpetta,” they continued.

“It’s a grizzly crime drama and she’ll go to dark places.”

While production is currently underway, Nicole will take on the lead role in Scarpetta, a new Amazon series based on the mystery books by Patricia Cornwell and starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose.

She will be seen on screens four times this year, having already starred alongside Zac Efron in Netflix’s age gap rom-com A Family Affair, which was released in June.

The Big Little Lies star will also appear in another very steamy age gap romance, Babygirl, which will be released in December.

Babygirl stars Nicole as a married corporate boss who falls in love with her young intern, played by 28-year-old Harris Dickinson, and they embark on a steamy affair together.

Finally, she returned to her role as Kaitlyn Meade in series two of Special Ops: Lioness’ and graced the red carpet at the star-studded premiere this weekend.

Nicole recently reflected on her busy working life and talked about how she finds it difficult to get away from the cameras and just take time for herself.

“It’s really hard for me to say, ‘Okay, I’m just going to take care of myself,’ because I do so much of taking care of other people,” she shared Variety.

“I think, ‘I can create more work for people.’ I can create jobs for people.” And I love it too. I have the passion.

‘I just have to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would love to be everywhere.”

She recently suffered a personal tragedy after her beloved mother Janelle passed away, with Nicole flying back to Australia for the funeral earlier this month.

Nicole spent a few days in her native Sydney with her sister Antonia and her extended family as they all said goodbye to the Kidman matriarch.

Nicole was supported by her husband Keith Urban and their two daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, before they all flew back to Los Angeles together.

Last month, a heartbroken Nicole was forced to leave the Venice Film Festival – where she won best actress for Babygirl – due to the death of her mother.

“Today I arrived in Venice and shortly afterwards discovered that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed away,” Nicole revealed in a statement read by director Halina Reijn.

‘I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, she guided me and she made me.

“I am beyond grateful to be able to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all.”

Nicole was born in Honolulu and raised in Sydney by Janelle and her psychologist father Antony, alongside Antonia.

Nicole was devastated when he died of a heart attack in September 2014 at the age of 75.
