Eurovision presenter Rylan Clark reveals fears eco-demonstrators could target the Eurovision song contest in Liverpool
Fears are growing that eco-demonstrators could attack the Eurovision Song Contest after a recent incident caused chaos at the World Snooker Championships.
BBC bosses are working with police to prevent the Liverpool final from being interrupted by the ecogroups.
Talking to the MirrorRylan, who is one of the hosts, admitted that it was a tough job to stop the situations that unfolded that night.
He said, “What you have to understand is that if there’s a standing audience in front of a stage, even if there’s a six-foot pit in front of the stage, these things can happen.
“Ultimately people can try and do what they want and no one will ever be able to stop that. There are no more tickets this year but it’s hard to stop anyone.

Rylan continued, “However, everything is in place to ensure this doesn’t happen and the well-being of the acts, the presenters and the crew is paramount.”
Merseyside Police Chief Inspector previously said: ‘We are planning it [a protest], I am happy with the level of planning. We’re just asking people not to embarrass it or cause problems for themselves because it’s going to be watched by 161 million people.
“I think we just need to understand how important it is to the people of Ukraine that we organize a safe, respectful event on their behalf.”
It comes after Rylan credited the Eurovision Song Contest for helping him get over his divorce.
The 34-year-old presenter had to stop covering the annual competition for the BBC in 2021 because he was so devastated by his breakup with Dan Neal.
Rylan suffered a mental health breakdown following his divorce that year from now ex-husband Dan, who he dated for five years.
After the breakdown of his marriage, the TV favorite took a five-month break from the spotlight due to his deteriorating health.
But he said a flight to Italy for last year’s musical extravaganza was just what he needed to get back to himself.

He told the Daily star Zondagskrant: ‘Last year I had to leave the UK for a while and the Eurovision bubble was perfect for that.
“It was what I needed on a personal level. Being there was a full circle moment for me. It was like, ‘I’m back, I’m ready to go’.
‘That’s why Eurovision is so important to me. If you cut me open, it’s there.”
