Fearne Cotton reveals she has been dealing with ‘very suppressed anger’ and is ‘now anxiety free’ just weeks after announcing shock split from husband-Jesse Wood

Fearne Cotton has revealed she has ‘got in touch with a very repressed anger’ just weeks after announcing her split from husband Jesse Wood.

The 43-year-old broadcaster shocked fans earlier this month when she shared the news that she had parted ways with her husband of 10 years.

Now she’s taken to her podcast Happy place to explain how she’s been feeling since her divorce from Ronnie Wood’s son Jesse, 48.

She said: ‘Thankfully I’ve been feeling pretty anxiety-free lately. One reason is that I go to therapy every week and don’t quit like I used to.

“But also coming into contact with a very repressed anger, which may seem abstract, but coming into contact with a very repressed anger has really helped to dull my fear.”

Fearne also said that although she had been a ‘happy little recluse’ earlier this year, she was enjoying spending nights at home with her blended family in their six-bedroom Victorian property in Richmond, Surrey.

But the mother-of-two says she has changed and wants a wild night out.

She said: ‘I actually feel like I want to go out more, socialize more, have fun and be a bit hungover. So I’m in a new, small era. My children are getting a little older. Nice Fearne is back!’

Fearne shares son Rex, 11, and daughter Honey, eight, with Jesse, 48, and she is also stepmother to his children Arthur, 22, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage to model and producer Tilly Wood.

The former Radio 1 presenter also reflected on an interview she did with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, 31.

Now Fearne wants to meet up for drinks with the pop star to discuss her ‘private’ feelings.

She said: “There are things, even for me, that are off-mic and private, but that really bring you real connection. So without sounding too desperate, I’d like to make an appointment with Perrie.

“I know how I am after a few margaritas and you get a little loose.” You say things you’re too scared to say normally.

“I don’t necessarily encourage all of us to get angry and share our true inner feelings, but it helps sometimes.”

Fearne also said that although she had been a ‘happy little recluse’ earlier this year, she was enjoying spending nights at home with her blended family in their six-bedroom Victorian property in Richmond, Surrey (pictured in 2016).

News of her divorce came just days after she revealed a health issue, revealing she had discovered two tumors on her jawline.

In the statement revealing the split, Fearne told fans that their priority was their children.

She posted on Instagram: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority was and remains our children.

“We ask that you please respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

Fearne reportedly feared for her marriage for some time before announcing the couple’s separation.

It has emerged that the couple had been facing challenges for a number of years, with Fearne previously admitting their marriage was ‘suffering’ as far back as 2019.

In an interview at the time, Fearne said that Jesse’s demanding schedule with his band Reef had put a strain on their relationship, leaving them desperately “clinging to their marriage.”

The couple, who tied the knot in a small ceremony in London in 2014 (pictured), celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in July.

The couple’s problems eventually came to a head with a two-hour “shouting match” during which they worried that their “love was gone.”

Jesse, the son of Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood and model Krissy Findlay, has yet to speak out about their divorce.

The couple, who tied the knot in a small ceremony in London in 2014, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in July.

The couple met in Ibiza in 2011. Fearne previously said their first date consisted of vodka and cigarettes. But Jesse stopped drinking and as of 2021 they are both vegan.
