FC Cincinnati has agreed to sell star striker Brenner to Serie A side Udinese in a deal worth $10 million, a resale fee and undisclosed add-ons the MLS club announced on Wednesday.

The total amount of the deal represented a franchise-record transfer fee for FC Cincinnati.

The 23-year-old Brenner will remain with the MLS club until the beginning of July. The Brazilian’s last league game for FC Cincinnati is on July 1 against the visiting New England Revolution.

“We are extremely happy for Brenner to take this step and play in one of the biggest leagues in Europe,” said Chris Albright, general manager of FC Cincinnati.

“Our ultimate goal at FC Cincinnati is to win games for our incredible fans, and we understand that developing players is key to attracting the best talent.

Brenner scored one goal in seven appearances (six starts) this season. He totaled 27 goals and eight assists in 72 appearances in all competitions.

He has also scored a club record six winning goals since joining the club from São Paulo FC in 2021 as a Young Designated Player.

So far this season, Brenner has scored just one goal for Cincinnati in seven appearances.

The goal, however, was a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders on March 11.
