FBI raids office of controversial Soros-funded Mississippi DA and the cigar shop he owns

The FBI has raided several properties used by a prosecutor in Mississippi.

Democratic Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owen’s office was raided Wednesday, as was the Downtown Cigar Company, a tobacco shop and lounge he owns in Jackson, according to Idaho News.

The reason behind the searches has not been revealed by officials.

FBI spokesman Marshay Lawson said in a statement: “The FBI is executing federal search warrants at the various locations.

“The affidavit in support of the search warrants has been sealed by the court and therefore I am prohibited from commenting further. There is no threat to public safety’

The Hinds County Prosecutor’s Office said in its own statement that it was fully cooperating with the investigation.

The office added that it is “fully functioning and continuing its work on behalf of the citizens of Hinds County.”

“That was and remains our main focus.”

Owens was elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023.

In 2022, he was accused of threatening a man with a gun at the apartment of his chief of staff, Samantha Grant.

Owens was accused of having a relationship with Grant.

He has denied all allegations.

The George-Soros-funded prosecutor ran on a platform that promised alternatives to incarceration.

He oversaw a record number of homicides in Jackson in 2021, as reported by CNN.
