The FBI is facing new calls to release hundreds of 'missing' pieces of evidence raided from Jeffrey Epstein's $51 million mansion in New York following the release of a new list of his associates.

Among the items said to be missing are tapes, CDs, passports and photos, all of which were in a safe at the property during a siege of the house in July 2019, shortly after Epstein was arrested.

It comes as speculation continues to swirl that Epstein was working as an agent for Israel's Mossad intelligence service prior to his suicide while awaiting trial on child abuse charges.

FBI agent Kelly Maguire previously testified that the bureau broke open a safe in his home in July 2019 to reveal the cache of evidence, along with “loose diamonds” and “large amounts of American money.”

During the sex trafficking trial of Epstein's Ms Ghislaine Maxwell, she told the court that the officers only photographed the contents because they had no order to remove them, the Telegraph reports.

When the agency returned on July 11 to seize the evidence, it was gone, according to Maguire, who claimed it was then returned in two suitcases by Richard Kahn, Epstein's former lawyer and executor of his estate.

She could not confirm whether the contents on the CDs were the same as those in the photos, but said all items had been accounted for.

The agency alluded to the contents of the safe in a request for a judge to deny Epstein bail.

Boxes containing CDs and hard drives were also discovered in several of Epstein's Upper East Side rooms, including in a massage room.

On the fifth floor, FBI agents found carefully labeled CDs in black folders that they said contained photographs.

The revelation fueled speculation that Epstein may have conducted a honeypot capture operation, obtaining valuable “kompromat” material to blackmail political and business elites.

Former Israeli spies have stated this, claiming that Epstein was drawn into the spy game by Ghislaine Maxwell's father Robert Maxwell, who was also identified as a Mossad agent by Ari Ben-Menashe, who worked for Israeli military intelligence. Directorate from 1977 to 1987.

Reports at the time of the raid on Epstein's home also stated that piles of lewd photos of children had been discovered in the safe.

The mansion had 40 rooms, which Maguire said took the FBI 12 hours to sweep.

The mansion was given to Epstein by lingerie magnate Leslie Wexner, who reportedly gave it to him for just $1.

Wexner was one of several high-profile names on the new associate list, which also includes Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.
