Shanda Freeman, the ex-wife of Fatman Scoop, broke her silence on social media following the famous DJ’s passing at the age of 53.

The radio personality collapsed during a performance in Hamden, Connecticut on Friday night, prompting stars including Missy Elliott to pay their respects online shortly after.

On Saturday, Freeman shared multiple photos with the New York-based entertainer, writing, “We made history. We were FIRST. I’m sad. I love you. Always.”

Shanda and Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, were together for 13 years before divorcing.

In 2008, they appeared on MTV’s reality show Man & Wife, about their lives as a married couple in the hip-hop community.

The Be Faithful hitmaker’s cause of death is unknown.

After suddenly collapsing, he was resuscitated and rushed to hospital.

The artist’s family announced his death on Saturday by sending a message to Scoop’s 200,000 followers.

“It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of the legendary and iconic FatMan Scoop,” the letter began.

It continued: ‘Last night the world lost a shining soul, a beacon of light on stage and in life.’

The statement described him as a “world-class player” and “a father, brother, uncle and friend.”

“He was the laugh of our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage,” it was noted.

‘FatMan Scoop was known worldwide as the undisputed voice of the club. His music made us dance and embrace life with positivity,’ it was shared.
