Father who was attacked by racist Karen on United Airlines shuttle reveals what prompted her vitriol
The father-of-three whose family were accosted by an unruly woman on a United Airlines shuttle has revealed her hateful comments started mid-flight.
Renowned photographer Pervez Taufiq told DailyMail.com that he was traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles with his wife and their three children when the horrific altercation began.
The family received one free business upgrade for their flight and decided to give it to their 11-year-old son.
At one point, Taufiq, sitting three rows behind his child, went over to watch and that’s when he had first contact with the woman.
“I was there for maybe three seconds, and a lady comes up behind me coming out of the bathroom and says, ‘Can I go to my seat?’ And I was like, ‘yeah, of course’ and I stepped aside,” he said.
She sits down in her chair and mumbles softly. I didn’t think about it at all at the time.’
After the plane landed and they were led to the shuttle, Taufiq’s son revealed that the woman asked him uncomfortable questions during the flight.
“As we were getting off the plane, my son started saying to me, ‘Hey, so that lady asked me if you’re Indian and I said yes, and then she asked me if I was from New Delhi and I said no, I’m from from Bombay,” Taufiq said.

Taufiq said she started asking his son uncomfortable questions during the flight and the situation escalated when she told his children to shut up in the shuttle.
“I thought why would she ask you if you are Indian, how strange for someone who doesn’t know you to even ask. It was bizarre.’
Once they were in the shuttle, the father said the woman continued to harass his children and throw vicious attacks at them.
‘We walked onto the bus and literally my son, the little guy, said, “Oh my God! That’s a plane!” and my middle child says, “Yes, is that your favorite plane?” They are both obsessed with airplanes,” Taufiq said.
‘Within maybe a second of that, this lady says, ‘Shut up, just shut up.’ Then I lost it.”
The woman, wearing a green striped shirt, raised both her middle fingers at Taufiq as he began filming the altercation.
“Your family is from India, you don’t respect the rules, you think you can push everyone… that’s what you think you are. You guys are fucking crazy,” she said.
Taufiq asked her, ‘Indian people are crazy? You told me to eat some more curry, right?’
“I’m going to record your fucking tandoori a**… your tandoori stinking a**,” the woman said.
Taufiq said the most disturbing part of the experience was that other people in the shuttle remained silent while she attacked them
A United employee arrived on the shuttle and began talking to the woman while other passengers shouted and asked her to get the woman off the bus
Taufiq told DailyMail.com: ‘How bizarre for her to film me racially criticizing me.’
He said the most disturbing part of the experience was that other people in the shuttle stood still while she attacked them.
“The real travesty is that no one really helped us except one man,” Taufiq said.
‘Everyone was super quiet. No one said anything until they asked if she was leaving, and then a man behind us said something. He was the only man. That was the real thing that upset me, to be honest, we felt so alone. My wife, I and our three kids are getting beat up by this lady and all that nonsense.
‘We travel all over the world, we visit about 34 countries a year, and we’ve never, ever had anyone bother us like that, so it was very unusual. It was an out-of-body experience.”
Eventually, a United employee arrived on the shuttle and began talking to the woman while other passengers shouted and asked her to get the woman off the bus.
Taufiq said they don’t know what happened to her and United won’t tell them, but the airline suggested they discuss it with the FBI.
‘I had gone to the toilet for a moment, they were talking to my wife, and they were like, ‘Oh, they were going to arrest her and there were five officers there and they were going to ban her. flight list.”
Taufiq said they don’t know what happened to her and United won’t tell them, but the airline suggested they discuss it with the FBI.
He said that when they were at the baggage claim, his wife was talking to authorities and that police appeared to be looking for her
“But then I tried to call them to see what happened, but we don’t know. They can’t tell us.
“We’re going to file something with the FBI because realistically it started in the air and it’s technically their space. That’s what the United People actually told us.”
