A father attending a college baseball game attempted to grab a foul ball, only to make the injury worse when he tripped and fell — while eyeing a small child.
This all happened during a regional elimination game between the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Campbell Fighting Camels in Sunday’s NCAA baseball tournament.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the father decided to give chase after a foul ball hit the crowd down the right field-line.
He started running after the ball when he saw where it landed – still holding his child.
But the father eventually tripped and fell on the pavement – with the child taking the brunt of that fall as the youngster’s head hit the ground.

It is unclear if there were any updates on the son’s condition after the fall was caught on air.
Campbell eventually won their game handily against NC State – eliminating them by winning 11-1.
Unfortunately for them, they couldn’t get past South Carolina – who won 16-7 against the Camels.
South Carolina advanced to the next stage of the tournament – the super-regional for the first time since 2018 with the win.
