Fatboy Slim’s Brighton cafe is forced to close after being trashed by ‘vile hooligans’ as shocking CCTV shows vandals smashing the windows to break into the eatery

Fatboy Slim’s Brighton Beach cafe was targeted by vandals in the early hours of Friday.

According to The ArgusThe Big Beach Cafe in Hove was unable to open due to thousands of pounds worth of damage to the building.

After seeing the damage, the café shared several CCTV images of three young people breaking into the building via social media.

A CCTV footage appeared to show a youth holding what appeared to be a piece of paving stone above his head before launching it at the building.

Other photos shared show the extent of the damage to the cafe, including the warped and broken shutters.

According to The Argus, The Big Beach Cafe in Hove was unable to open on Saturday morning due to thousands of pounds worth of damage to the building.

After seeing the damage, the café shared several CCTV images of three young people breaking into the building via social media

In another flash, shards of broken glass could be seen on the ground near the cafe’s main entrance.

Taking to Instagram, the cafe shared devastatingly: ‘Sorry we can’t open our kitchen this morning as these three vile hooligans have caused ££££ worth of damage to our community.’

“Please share their details and contact us so we can prosecute them and ensure they pay for their actions.”

Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.

It comes after the 60-year-old DJ from Brighton, whose real name is Norman Cook, bought the cafe in 2013 from former model, businesswoman and animal rights campaigner Heather Mills.

The ex-wife of Beatles star Paul McCartney ran the vegan cafe V Bites for four years.

In April 2017, he revealed his plans to turn a block of old toilets into a hipster cafe that is a ‘community beach hub’.

It was reported at the time that he believed the derelict block in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, had great potential.

In an instant, the blue framed window could be seen wide open as the shutters were pulled from the center

Another photo showed the bottom of the shutter completely broken off

From the inside of the cafe the damage looked a lot worse as the cafe will now have to replace them

Shards of broken glass could also be seen on the ground outside the cafe’s main entrance

The district administration of Adur was also looking for a partner to redevelop the dilapidated toilets at the time.

The toilets at Shoreham would then become a café with a roof terrace, changing rooms and a water sports centre.

Councilor Brian Boggis said at the time: “I am very pleased to see such exciting plans for this important site.

“We made it clear that we wanted something exceptional for Shoreham Beach Green and I believe this proposal will improve the facilities for the local community and the thousands of visitors who come to Shoreham Beach every year.”

In 2013, Fatboy Slim founded the Big Beach Cafe, which also hosted his 50th birthday party.
