A few McDonald’s customers sparked outrage after allowing their dog to sit on an indoor table.

The fast food customers were pictured at the McDonald’s on St Kilda Road in Melbourne, waiting for their food.

While they waited, the couple placed their long-haired pet Chihuahua on one of the restaurant’s indoor tables.

An irate restaurant shared on social media a photo of the small black and white dog sitting on the table.

“Who doesn’t love some dirty dog anus on their Maccas table,” the restaurant captioned the photo sarcastically.

The photo has garnered more than 260 comments, with many labeling the act “disgusting.”

‘That’s nasty. I love my dogs but their butts won’t come in let alone sit on a table,” one wrote.

“It’s not fine dining [but] doesn’t mean your disgusting dog can sit on the table,” another person commented.

A third chimed in: “Bah. Very cute dog.’

“A dog’s butt doesn’t belong on a table, even if that table was already dirty by your standards. Honestly, it’s really f****d that most people here think it’s okay to let an animal sit on a table where people eat,” a fourth person wrote.

Others, however, defended the dog owners.

Some people defended pet owners claiming that there are things in McDonald's restaurants that are much dirtier than a dog (pictured, McDonald's on St Kilda Road, Melbourne)

“Unless you’re planning on licking the table, I’m not sure why this would bother you,” one person wrote.

‘You’re in Maccas. That dog’s anus is probably the cleanest thing there is,” another person joked.

“When you eat at McDonald’s, your requirements are already low,” said a third.
