Farmer Wants A Wife couple announce shock split in latest blow for reality hit after Samantha Armytage’s departure from Seven

Sara Carey and Joe Bobbin, both members of Farmer Wants A Wife, have announced that they are splitting.

The couple, who met on the final season of the Channel Seven show, revealed they have ended their relationship after months of dating.

Sarah, 31, confirmed via her Instagram Story on Monday that she and Joe, 33, have been “separated for weeks.”

“I really hoped I wouldn’t have to do this because I’m a very private person, but it’s incredibly hard to recover when I’m constantly being asked questions and made comments about the status of my relationship,” Sarah wrote.

‘Joe and I broke up a few weeks ago.’

“This has been one of the most difficult times of my life, so I want to sincerely thank the people who have sent me kind messages, asked how I was doing, and welcomed me into this community.”

“It was hard without my friends and family around me, but the kindness I received is something I will never forget.”

Sarah indicated that she was not yet ready to make the reasons for the split public, as she was still ‘processing’ the information.

“I understand there are a lot of questions about why, but at this point I’m not ready to talk about that because I’m still processing the information myself,” she said.

“I really appreciate you respecting my privacy.”

Ny Breaking Australia has reached out to Joe Bobbin for comment.

Sarah and Joe first sparked rift rumors in May after the final episode of Farmer Wants A Wife showed Joe attending his best friend’s wedding without Sarah.

Joe is a good friend of FWAW 2021 star Andrew Guthrie, and beautiful scenes from his wedding to Jess Nathan aired after the 2024 grooms had made their decisions.

Interestingly, Sarah, the farm manager, was absent from the ceremony. Joe called her instead via video link from the wedding, sparking rumours that they had split.

Sarah responded to the rumors at the time, saying that she and Joe were still together, and that the producers had told her not to come so that they wouldn’t reveal their fate to the fans.

“Joe and I are trying to figure out our new relationship, it’s all so new,” she confirmed to 7News in a new interview.

‘[The producers] didn’t want to give away the ending, which is completely understandable.

‘It was always known that whoever ended up with Joe wouldn’t be allowed to go because they didn’t know the timetables [for the series to air] yet.’

Sarah said she was told at the last minute that she could come to the wedding, but she had just started a new job near Joe’s farm in Bombala, NSW, and couldn’t take time off.

“This has been one of the most difficult times of my life, so I want to sincerely thank everyone who has sent me kind messages, who has checked in on me and who has welcomed me into this community,” she said.

The news comes after FWAW presenter Samantha Armytage announced on Sunday that she is leaving Seven Network.

Armytage, 47, has turned down a new deal with Seven after her current contract expires in October, The Daily Telegraph reported.

She described the departure as “sad and ambivalent,” telling the publication that she felt her time had come and that she was excited about her future.

“I’m big on instinct. I listen to my instincts. I know when the time is right. I pride myself on the fact that I back myself enough to say, ‘I’ve done what I can do here,’ and I’m moving on,” she said.

“This isn’t the end. It’s just the end of this chapter.”

Armytage will still be seen at the upcoming Logies, with her show Farmer Wants A Wife nominated for Best Structured Reality Programme. However, she will not be returning to present the next series of the show, which is currently in pre-production.

Natalie Gruzlewski, the reality show’s original host, is returning.
