A Farmer Wants A Wife contestant has been left furious after producers ‘took apart’ his family home and replaced the furniture to make it more TV-worthy.
Farmer Todd recently joined the series as a new candidate looking for love and has been exploring potential romantic connections on his farm in Baan Baa, NSW.
However, a friend of Todd’s has now exclusively revealed behind-the-scenes filming secrets to Daily Mail Australia, explaining how the show overhauled his family farm for the show.
They claimed that producers replaced all the furniture in Todd’s home with rented items and “took apart” the decor, leaving his family unimpressed.
The source further claimed that producers also suggested painting his walls, but Todd put his foot down and insisted they couldn’t.

However, his friend claims he was upset when producers of The Farmer Wants A Wife ‘took apart’ his family home (pictured) and replaced the furniture to make it more TV-worthy.
“The shoot is long and the invasion of your life is almost unbearable,” Todd’s friend revealed.
“Todd had producers at their parents’ house taking apart his set and that was just on the first day. I don’t think his mother was too happy at the time.’
“The production team decided the farm didn’t look the way they wanted and stripped the entire house of its furnishings and replaced it with rented items,” said a source close to the family.
“They then wanted to paint the walls and then Farmer Todd intervened and said, ‘That’s enough!’
The friend also claimed that the scenes where Todd introduced his romantic interests to his friends took ten hours to film, despite only being on screen for a few moments.

“They let us play games and have a great time (at the local pub), but when it came to what you saw on TV, we were tired and wanted to go home,” they said.
They also insisted that the scenes depicted them as TV villains while criticizing the final editing, leaving viewers shocked.
In the brutal scenes, Todd’s friends told him to look for love elsewhere as they shared their doubts about his connection to Daisy Lamb.
“I think she might be nice right now, but not in the long run,” one partner told the farmer, adding that she was not a good match because she had recently divorced.
‘I don’t feel like she is the right choice for you as a wife and as a mother to your children. I just think she’s very strong, feisty, clashes with a kind of girl and has a masculine vibe to her.”
The friend also claimed that the scenes where Todd introduced his romantic interests to his friends were a 10-hour day of filming, despite only appearing on screen for a few moments.
However, Todd’s friends laugh off the montage, as one friend said, “Luckily in the country we don’t take ourselves so seriously.”
Todd also hinted that things weren’t quite as they appeared on screen, as he insisted that Daisy and his friends’ meeting was more positive than it seemed.
“It didn’t come across quite the way it was intended,” he said Refinery29. ‘It seemed a lot harder the way it was put together on the screen.
“During the conversation with my cousin and his wife… there was laughter and laughter and they got along great.”
Despite the challenges of filming, a source close to Todd insisted he would not change his decision to take part in the Channel Seven dating show.

“The good outweighs the bad at a show like this – you just have to know what you’re signing up for,” they said.
“Farmer Todd has had a great experience and wouldn’t change his decision to participate in the show.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Seven for comment.
Todd is currently dating Daisy, Iyesha, Grace, Jacinta and Ellen on his farm in an attempt to find the love of his life.
Daisy has proven to be a solid love match for Todd as they have quickly formed a close bond, but she has also condemned the show’s “shameful” editing.
She claimed viewers were given the ‘wrong’ idea about what happened during the family and friends gatherings, as she claimed the ‘disappointing’ final scenes made her ‘sad’.
Todd has built a solid bond with Daisy Lamb on the show, but she recently criticized her “shameful” edit after scenes showed her meeting the farmer’s family and friends.
Daisy left Todd’s mum stunned when she admitted she may already be ‘in love’ with the farmer, despite dating still in its early stages.
She focused on the scenes Yahoo!: ‘Unfortunately, the editing in this series is disappointing and disgraceful (to say the least) and has given viewers the wrong idea of what happened, who I am and how the entire experience with Todd played out.
“The other girls had plenty of time, we all had a chance to talk to him and spend time alone with him and it’s sad that what could have been a great story turned into something so disgusting.”
“Keep shining, guys,” she added.
