A farmer has been killed in a workplace accident in rural Victoria after his idling tractor ran over him.
The incident at the Lockington property, in northern Victoria, south-west of Echuca, is being investigated by WorkSafe.
The 65-year-old man was trying to attach an implement to the rear of the tractor at around 11am on Sunday when it suddenly reversed and ran over him, WorkSafe said.
According to Worksafe, this is the 51st workplace fatality in Victoria this year.
The incident follows a French backpacker who was fatally bitten by a brown snake while working on a farm in Nullawil in north-west Victoria last week.

The 25-year-old was found by friends at his home before being airlifted to hospital in Melbourne where stab wounds were found to his foot.
Access Grain owner Wade Humphreys, who hired him, said he was likely bitten off-duty because their employees were all wearing protective boots.
“He obviously hadn’t realized he had been bitten,” he said.
