Fans turn on Robert Irwin’s extremely cringey Twisties ad with G Flip: ‘Children are starving in Gaza and this is what you’re doing?’
Robert Irwin and G Flip have joined forces for the latest Twisties campaign, but not everyone is happy about it.
The conservationist, 20, and the Australian musician, 30, star in a new advert that allows snack fans to vote for their favorite Twisties flavour: chicken or cheese.
In the chilling clip, Robert advocates the chicken flavor, while G Flip opts for cheese.
“To all my chookstituents! I say chicken is the people’s Twistie!’ Robert says from a podium.
‘Cheese has carried chicken on his glorious shoulders for far too long! No more cackling lies,” G Flip adds.

But the light-hearted clip has sparked backlash in the comments of the post shared on Robert’s Instagram page.
Several fans have turned against the star for remaining silent on global issues, especially the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza.
‘Children are starving in Gaza and Congo and Sudan and this is what you do as someone with a platform in this world? Shame on you,” one user wrote.
Meanwhile, another said they were surprised Robert wasn’t vegan as he is a conservationist.
“I’m honestly surprised you’re not a vegan, or at least a vegetarian @robertirwinphotography, someone who loves and cares about animals, just as you should care for the animals in the meat industry,” they said.
Others, mainly non-Australians, were simply confused by the campaign.
“As an American, I look at this like, what,” one fan commented.
‘WTF did I just watch!’ another added. “I’m using team cheese, sorry Robert.”

“Ohhh my God… what the hell is this?!?! I can never watch that again,” someone else wrote, while another said: “Tf is a Twistie.”
However, many loved the campaign and were enthusiastic about Robert’s performance.
“Robert as Prime Minister,” said one, while another burst out: “This is hilarious.”
“I thought it would be so fun to be a part of this,” one person added.
It comes after fans came to Robert’s defense after opponents complained that he and his mother Terri, 59, are often seen together.
‘Are Robert and his mother joined at the hip? She’s in every photo you see of him,” one person wrote in the comments, while another added: “He’s 20 now!”
However, there was plenty of support for their close relationship, with one person replying: ‘He’s a lucky young man to have hair.’
Another wrote: ‘People say why Robert has his mother in so many pictures. Remember that every day is precious. Life is fragile. The Irwin’s, like millions of other families, have experienced loss on a monumental scale.
“Steve was larger than life. It’s nice that they spend so much time together. Don’t be so critical.’
Another said, “What’s wrong with someone being close to their mother?”
‘Who cares? It’s his mother and they seem to be a very close family,” said yet another.
The couple did nothing to dispel talk of their closeness as they stepped out together in Oregon earlier this week.
The mother and son were in the region visiting relatives and appeared cheerful as they walked together.
An I’m A Celebrity producer expressed his concerns over host Robert’s decision to bring his protective mother Terri onto set.
Terri joined her son on his trip to South Africa as he filmed his debut season of the hit Channel 10 programme, alongside co-host Julia Morris, 55.
Speaking exclusively to Ny Breaking Australia, an anonymous producer has admitted that Terri’s presence on set every day is ‘a bit creepy’, saying: ‘It gives off a ‘taking your mum to school’ vibe.

Terri, who has been in charge of Robert and his big sister Bindi’s showbiz careers since the death of their father Steve in 2006, has apparently kept a close eye on everything Robert does while working on the programme.
“The two have a great relationship and Terri couldn’t be nicer, but there aren’t many situations where employees have their mom with them at work just to make sure everything is okay,” the insider said.
Comparing Terri to the Kardashians’ famous “momager” Kris Jenner, the producer claimed that Robert Irwin’s contract even included a section that allowed him to bring his family on set.
‘The deal was finalized when Robert signed on as host at the end of last year. He wanted his family to come with him,” they claimed, adding: “Maybe it will just be for this series, but maybe Terri will always be in the wings. Who knows’.
