Eagle-eyed football fans have raised their eyebrows when they spotted the book Mohamed Salah appears to be reading after the Liverpool striker posted a photo of the book’s cover on his Instagram Story.

It comes as speculation grows over the Egyptian’s future at the Merseyside club, with Salah’s contract at Anfield set to expire in 2025.

The 31-year-old, who was linked with a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia last summer, was also recently embroiled in a row with outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp, raising further concerns over his future at the club.

Although the winger appeared unhappy with his manager being benched for the draw against West Ham, Klopp and Salah appear to have quickly buried the hatchet, with the Egyptian recently sending a thank-you message to the German coach following his departure from the club .

On Wednesday, Salah appeared to post an image to his Instagram Story of the cover of a book he appears to be reading, titled ‘Surrounded by Idiots’.

The book was written by Thomas Erikson, who has also produced other works including ‘Surrounded by Adversity’, ‘Surrounded by Narcissists’ and ‘Surrounded by Psychopaths’.

‘Surrounded by Idiots’ has reportedly sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide and aims to help readers communicate better with other people by classifying individuals into four personality types based on four different colors: red, yellow, green and blue.

Salah appeared to be carrying the Arabic version of the book, with fans online suggesting the Liverpool striker was trying to tell them something.

An X user (formerly Twitter) wrote: ‘What is he trying to say?’ adding three thinking emojis.

Another added: “The timing of this.” While another wrote: ‘We really need context.’

“There’s no way he’s posting this for no reason,” said another fan.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side just slowed towards the end of the season, losing 2-0 to Everton before drawing 2-2 with West Ham.

The Reds had struggled in front of goal towards the end of the season, with Salah scoring just three times after returning from injury in March.

And despite falling out with Klopp during their draw at the London Stadium, the pair appeared to bury the hatchet, with Salah expressing his gratitude to the outgoing manager this week.

The 31-year-old went to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of them together on the training pitch, and the message: ‘It’s been great to share all those trophies and experiences from the past 7 years with you.
