Fans came across David Raya on social media after his dismal performance for Arsenal in the penalty shootout against Man United.

The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw for 120 minutes by the 10-man visitors and lost 5-3 on penalties to Ruben Amorim’s side.

Raya guessed wrong on every United penalty, but was particularly ridiculed for his antics when Leny Yoro stepped up to save the Red Devils’ third penalty.

He was seen shuffling towards the right side of the goal, skipping as Yoro approached the ball, and fully committed to the wrong angle as United’s centre-back slotted the ball into the bottom left of the goal line.

One user wrote on X: ‘This is the worst goalkeeping I have ever seen.’

Another said: ‘Almost all of them [Raya’s] attempted rescue looked like something out of a comic book. Terrible.’

Sunday’s first half suffered from a lack of quality on both sides, with Gabriel Martinelli coming closest before his effort was ruled out for offside.

The match came alive after the break with United as Bruno Fernandes put the visitors ahead before United’s momentum was halted when Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second yellow card. Arsenal then promptly found the equalizer through a deflected volley from Gabriel.

The Gunners then had a golden opportunity to take the lead after being awarded a penalty, but Altay Bayindir produced a fine stop to deny Martin Odegaard from twelve yards.

After a tense 30-minute extra time, the match was decided by penalties, with a miss from Kai Havertz sending Ruben Amorim’s side through the goal.

United will continue their FA Cup defense against Leicester, who are managed by club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
