Speaking about his character, Martin told Today: “At first I had to trust the character and defend him. He had a complex personality and was ambiguous in the way he acted.”

In real life, Rivi was arrested in 1993 in connection with a job at a Chicago bank, leading police to identify him as Griselda’s enforcer.

And just like in the show, Ayala had phone sex with two secretaries who worked at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, and when that fact became known, he lost credibility as a witness against Griselda.

He pleaded guilty to three murders and is currently serving 31 years in prison.
