A coach wearing sunglasses, who appeared to be ULM head coach Bryan Vincent, appeared to tell Blankenship to calm down.
But Blankenship couldn’t control his anger as he jumped up and down before ripping off his coaching headset and yelling at offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson.
ULM offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship was seen yelling at one of his players
As Hutchinson ran from the sideline, Blankenship was seen running after his player.
After leaving the field, Blankenship continued to run after Hutchinson, shoving and punching the player in the chest while yelling in the lineman’s face.
DailyMail.com has contacted ULM for any comment on this matter.
Fans were outraged by Blankenship’s behavior and posted their disdain for X in the aftermath.
‘That’s a grown man who has gone crazy because a student made a mistake. A coach should never physically go after such a player. Gross!,” one user wrote on the social media platform.
Another wrote: ‘Unacceptable. Suspend that coach.”
“That’s one way to make your team stop respecting you,” another user wrote.
‘He should be fired. It’s not acceptable. He’s lucky the player didn’t take him out. This coach is a short guy,” read another post.
Blankenship was then seen getting in the player’s face after pushing him with two hands
Louisiana-Monroe ultimately lost the game on the road to Marshall 28-23, falling to 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
ULM running back Ahmad Hardy rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown, while neither team’s passing attack was particularly potent.
They hope to bounce back next week when they take on Texas State.
