Jude Bellingham was praised by fans on Friday evening after his antics in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Valencia.

The midfielder was spotted emptying goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski’s water bottle after Vinicius Jr. was sent off in the 79th minute.

The Brazilian pushed Valencia’s shot-stopper after his braids were pulled out while he was on the ground, and was then sent off by referee Cesar Soto Grado.

Vinicius was outraged by the decision and, after already protesting his innocence to the referee, had to be restrained by his teammates.

Indeed, Antonio Rudiger was seen escorting the striker off the pitch with a member of Madrid’s staff, with Vinicius still shouting over his shoulder as he was dragged through the tunnel.

Regarding Bellingham’s reaction to the incident, one fan wrote on X: “Gotta love Bellingham. Next England captain.’

Another said: ‘All these people in the comments will be at the World Cup next year. I think it’s great that we finally have a player with a little bit of an edge in his game,” in response to other fans calling out Bellingham’s behavior.

A third wrote: ‘Seems completely reasonable.’

After the match, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti shared his condolences with Vinicius Jr. and revealed that the club will protest the decision.

He said: ‘It wasn’t a red card for Vinicius Jr. We will appeal.

‘The goalkeeper pushed him and Vini reacted. It should have been yellow for both of them and it was.”

Luka Modric’s 85th-minute equalizer and Bellingham’s stoppage-time winner ensured Madrid avoided consecutive La Liga defeats for the first time since 2019.

The win took Los Blancos to 43 points, two above city rivals Atletico, albeit they had played a game more.
