Football fans took aim at the University of Michigan after recruit Elijah Dotson posted a photo of his “pathetic” lunch on social media.

The three-star contender showed off his plate, which included chicken tenders, mac-n-cheese, a hot dog, and a cookie.

The photo went viral and drew scorn from supporters on social media.

“Send the chief to the transfer portal,” someone said on Twitter. Another quipped, “Dear @FBI, do your job and arrest whoever was responsible for this.”

One ex-student denounced his former university, claiming the meal was “pretty pathetic,” while another supporter insisted, “This would be considered cruel and unusual punishment in any prison in America.”

The embarrassment follows news that Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is facing a four-game suspension after supposedly meeting up with recruits and buying them burgers.

After Dotson’s photo went viral, one fan quipped, “Now I understand why Harbaugh bought a recruit a burger.”

As reported earlier this month, Harbaugh is charged with violating NCAA rules for inappropriate contact with recruits.

“We continue to work with the NCAA staff on an enforcement matter,” Michigan athletics director Warde Manuel said in a statement.

“At this time, we are unable to comment further on any aspect of the matter.”

The Wolverines are coming off two straight Big Ten championships and two College Football Playoff appearances.

They are expected to enter the season as one of the highest ranked teams in the country.
