Fans go wild for Texas-Michigan standoff as Matthew McConaughey reps the Longhorns in front of raucous 110,000-strong crowd in Ann Arbor

Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey had a hilarious encounter with former NFL player Charles Woodson ahead of Saturday’s Texas-Michigan game.

McConaughey and Woodson went face-to-face in front of more than 100,000 fans in the Big House, just minutes before the first-ever regular-season meeting between the two college football powerhouses.

McConaughey is a huge Longhorns fan and regularly stands on the sidelines cheering on Steve Sarkisian’s team.

Woodson played three years for Michigan, from 1995 to 1997. He was then selected fourth overall in the 1998 draft and went on to play 18 seasons in the NFL.

On Saturday, shortly before kickoff, McConaughey stood on the field with an orange Texas flag.

Woodson, reporting for FOX Sports, stood across from him shortly afterward with a large blue Michigan flag.

“Come on, baby, here we go… let’s do it!” Woodson yelled in McConaughey’s face.

“Don’t make me chase you,” the movie star replied. “I know you’re fast!” Woodson then sprinted around the field, waving his flag as the Michigan players emerged from the tunnel.

“I love college football,” one fan wrote on social media, while another joked that they’d put their money on McConaughey. “That was awesome to watch,” a third said.

This matchup between the number 3 Longhorns and number 1 Wolverines kicked off the second week of the American football season.

It was only the second meeting between the two giants ever, 20 years after they first met in the Rose Bowl following the 2004 season.
