Fans go wild for ‘future Heisman winner’ Arch Manning as nephew of Peyton and Eli throws touchdown on his first play for Texas… and then runs 67 yards for another just minutes later
Arch Manning had Texas Longhorns fans excited when he stepped onto the field Saturday night, throwing a touchdown on his first play and then running 67 yards for another touchdown a few minutes later.
The star quarterback and cousin of NFL legends Eli and Peyton, entered the game early in the second quarter after Heisman favorite Quinn Ewers left the field with an injury.
However, it didn’t take long for fan frustrations to cool as the Heisman turned its attention to Manning, who performed well against UTSA.
On his first play of the game, on 2nd & 9 at the UTSA 20-yard line, Manning threw a touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore Jr. to complete the Longhorns’ drive.
Seconds later, Manning got the ball back deep in Texas, then took off and ran a career-long 67 yards for another touchdown.

Fans took to social media to voice their opinions, with one writing: ‘He should be the starter!’
Another added, “He’s the king,” after which a Longhorns fanatic called him a “future Heisman winner.”
The current favorite for the Heisman is his QB teammate Ewers, who nearly burst into tears as he walked off the field Saturday night with his jersey pulled over his head.
He suffered an injury to his lower leg and, after a short stay in the first aid tent, limped to the locker room.
Prior to the game against UTSA, Ewers had thrown for 506 yards and six touchdowns, with one interception.
