Fans flame Deebo Samuel for brutal drop against Rams after claiming he’s ‘not struggling’
Fans didn’t hold back from torching Deebo Samuel after a brutal loss in San Francisco’s 12-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday.
With the score tied 3-3 in the third frame, the 49ers got deep inside Rams territory on third-and-10. With a chance to get the first down, quarterback Brock Purdy saw Samuel’s run.
But instead of securing the catch and gaining yards, the sixth-year wide receiver let the ball slip through his hands.
The fumble came days after Samuel went to X and wrote, “No effort at all, just not getting the ball!” on Monday. He then deleted the post and later claimed he didn’t “hate” his teammates.
As a result, fans came across Samuel on social media during the state of his season.
“I can’t wait to hear his apology,” one user wrote.

“That guy is a cancer. The height of entitlement,” a second added. ‘Just look at his post-match interviews. Multi-millionaire complaining about his role and his stats. Gross.’
“I think he’s having a hard time,” said a third.
“Jokes write themselves,” a fourth commented.
‘That was probably a TD too. Wild drop,” a fifth commented. Community Notes are undefeated.
Samuel has caught 43 of 71 targets for 569 yards and a touchdown in 13 games this season. Like Samuel, the reigning NFC champions have struggled with a 6-8 record while at the bottom of the NFC West.
After his episode on X, Samuel doubled down on his comments on Tuesday.
“You read what you read,” Samuel told ESPN. ‘[I’m] a bit frustrated for sure.’
