Fans are convinced Ryan Reynolds trolled Justin Baldoni with VERY snarky joke in Deadpool & Wolverine

Fans are delving into the controversy – and dueling lawsuits – between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Some intrepid Deadpool & Wolverine viewers believe Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, got into trouble with Baldoni, 40, in the film.

The film, also starring Hugh Jackman, was filmed at the same time as It Ends With Us and was written by Reynolds.

In the film, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter a Deadpool variant called Nicepool.

Nicepool (who was also played by Ryan) has a man bun, a hairstyle that Justin wore for years.

The character makes a comment about Ladypool – played by Blake – saying, “Oh my god, wait until you see Ladypool. She’s beautiful. She just had a baby too and [you] I don’t even know.’

Deadpool replies, “I don’t think you’re allowed to say that.”

In response, Nicepool says, with one hand on his chest, “That’s okay. I identify as a feminist.”

Baldoni has often and publicly said he is a feminist. He gave one TED talk in 2017, entitled ‘Why I’m done trying to be ‘man enough’.’

During his speech, he said he was “trying to be a feminist and amplify the voices of women around the world.”

The following year Baldoni wrote an article for it Romper about being a “feminist father” to his and wife Emily Baldoni’s two children.

Deadpool & Wolverine completed filming in June 2024, five months after Lively and Reynolds attended an “all hands” meeting with Baldoni to address the “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior,” according to Lively’s lawsuit.

Lively gave birth to her and Reynolds’ fourth child, son Olin, just months before the film It Ends With Us began.

In both lawsuits, she claims Baldoni “routinely degraded” her by “finding ways to criticize her body and weight.”

In another scene in Deadpool & Wolverine, supervillain Cassandra Nova (played by Emma Corrin) enters Deadpool’s mind to access his memories.

She literally sticks her hand in Deadpool’s head as he shouts, “And where the hell is the intimacy coordinator?”

Lively claims Baldoni “improvised physical intimacy that was not rehearsed, choreographed or discussed with her,” “without an intimacy coordinator involved” in her lawsuits.

In Baldoni’s lawsuit against the New York Times, he claims that Lively “declined to meet with the intimacy coordinator to plan the film’s sex scenes.”

In the lawsuit Lively filed last month, she accused Baldoni of body-shaming her, trying to add additional sex scenes to the film, showing her pornographic images and videos, breaking character and continuing to kiss her during filming and launch a ‘social manipulation’. campaign against her to ‘destroy’ her reputation.

Baldoni then accused Reynolds of yelling at him during that fateful production meeting at the couple’s apartment.

Reynolds is said to have “aggressively” accused Baldoni of a series of crimes against his wife, including “fat shaming” her, during a meeting with other producers and a Sony representative.

Baldoni called the encounter “traumatic” and stated that he had “never been spoken to like that in his life.”

The character also makes a comment about Ladypool – played by Ryan’s wife Blake – saying: ‘Oh my god, wait until you see Ladypool. She’s beautiful. She just had a baby too and [you] can’t even say it

In Baldoni’s lawsuit against the New York Times, he claims that Lively “refused to meet with the intimacy coordinator to plan the film’s sex scenes”; Baldoni seen in 2023

Reynolds denies this claim and has told eyewitnesses as much TMZ that although Reynolds was “angry and stern,” his behavior cannot be categorized as yelling.

Baldoni’s lawsuit against the Times follows Lively’s lawsuit against him alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and loss of wages, although he has denied her allegations.

She initially filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department on December 21, before filing a federal lawsuit against him on December 31.

A source for People With knowledge of the matter, he claimed that Baldoni will file a lawsuit against Lively “soon.”

As a result of the dueling lawsuits, Blake and Ryan will skip the Golden Globes on Sunday.
