Fans compare Kai Trump to Donald as she makes brutal Scottie Scheffler jail joke in driving range interview

The University of Miami’s newest golf recruit asked tough questions of PGA stars Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, as well as their LIV counterparts Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, outside Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Kai Trump, the 17-year-old high school golfer and granddaughter of the president-elect, interviewed all four lefties ahead of an exhibition called The Showdown. And all was apparently fair game, as the future Hurricanes golfer asked about everything from Scheffler’s arrest to McIlroy’s putting problems.

‘Today I am here with?’ Kai asked, causing the four-time major winner to introduce herself to her social media followers.

Her Instagram followers immediately picked up on the humorous tone of the interviews and responded by comparing Kai to her grandfather, Donald.

‘She’s funny!!’ wrote one commenter. “I have Grandpa’s genuine sense of humor!”

‘This is great!’ another added. ‘I love the questions and the dry asking of the difficult people! Haha.’

To her credit, Kai was unflappable as she spoke to the golfers about some of their most sensitive issues.

For example, Kai asked about McIlroy’s collapse at the 2024 US Open, where he bogeyed three of the last four holes by missing a pair of easy putts en route to a second-place finish behind DeChambeau.

‘How does the putting stroke feel?’ Kai asked McIlroy, with an obvious nod to the US Open.

“Eh, it feels good,” McIlroy said hours before draining a 40-foot Eagle Putt on a par-5. “It comes and goes, but right now it feels good.”

As for his chances in The Showdown, McIlroy accurately predicted that he and Scheffler would do well, given his partner’s spectacular play in recent months.

“I have a good partner,” McIlroy said earlier and Scheffler flew to victory. ‘I have the best player in the world as my partner. So I’m feeling pretty good.”

Next up was Scheffler, whose remarkable 2024 included two major wins and $62 million in winnings.

It also included his bizarre arrest during the 2024 PGA Championship in Louisville, where the PGA star was charged for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a parking dispute, after which the charges were dropped.

“Scottie, you’re too nice, but how was prison?” Kai asked.

To his credit, Scheffler was unfazed.

“To be honest, it was a bit boring,” he said. ‘There’s not really much to do there. I was alone in a cell. I just kind of sat there looking at the walls.”

Kai responded with a reference to his jumpsuit-clad mugshot.

“To be honest, orange doesn’t look that bad on you,” she said. “You finished it. Just like Tiger Woods.

Scheffler, an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin, couldn’t help but pay tribute to his alma mater’s color scheme with his response: “I prefer burnt orange to prison orange.”

But Kai was just as strong against the pros at LIV Golf – the Saudi-backed tour that has competed in several tournaments with her grandfather.

‘Today I am here with?’ Kai asked the reigning US Open champion.

“Bryson DeChambeau,” he dutifully replied.

Kai recalled “the last time” DeChambeau played in a similar exhibition, he was “destroyed by” Koepka.

When asked how he feels now that they are teammates, DeChambeau said he was happy to be able to rely on his old rival.

“Obviously he’s going to carry me all the way to victory,” DeChambeau said.

Kai didn’t argue, “That’s what I thought too.”

As for Koepka, he may have gotten off easy with a question about his favorite reality show.

“Um, 90 Day Fiancé,” Kai said, prompting an immediate agreement from Kai.

“That’s a good one,” she said.

“There are a lot of good spinoffs there,” he continued. ‘I watch it all the time with my wife, lying in bed, relaxing and falling asleep to it. It’s great.’

Kai enthusiastically added that she watches the show with her mother, Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi, Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife. and the heiress to the Rao’s Homemade Pasta Sauce fortune.

As for the event itself, the PGA stars had no problems with their LIV rivals, winning in just 14 holes.

“It was important for our team that Rory got off to a good start,” Scheffler said.

For the win, Scheffler and McIlroy each received $5 million in cryptocurrency.
