  • Wrestling fans believe his appearance is a major clue that he will appear at an event
  • Johnson has been absent from the WWE since the night after Wrestlemania XL

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has set tongues wagging among wrestling fans after confirming he would be in Georgia to attend a high school football game.

In an Instagram post, Johnson revealed that he would be attending Apalachee High School’s first home game following the tragic school shooting on September 4, which left two students, two teachers dead and nine others injured.

“A big football game tonight as the Apalachee High School Wildcats take the field in their first home game since the mass shooting at their school about a month ago,” Johnson said.

“These players, coaches, teachers, the entire community and ALL students of Apalachee are the symbol of resilience, love and strength.

‘I promised them I would be there for them tonight – and I will.

Johnson took time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance and talk to the school community

“Win or lose, these Apalachee kids are already undefeated.”

Apalachee would lose to Jackson County High 25-6.

Despite the devastating reason behind Johnson’s visit to the school, it didn’t stop fans from joining the points as the WWE has a pay-per-view event in Georgia on the same day.

The event, titled Bad Blood, will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

On the card, Drew McIntyre faces CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell match, Nia Jax defends her WWE Women’s Championship against Bayley, Damian Priest takes on Finn Balor while Liv Morgan takes on Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship.

But the one match that many fans can’t wait for is a tag team clash featuring Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline, a faction that Reigns was a longtime member of.

Rhodes and Reigns also shared a long-standing rivalry that came to an end in April at Wrestlemania XL when Reigns’ 1,316-day streak as undisputed WWE Champion came to an end.

Johnson, a member of an iconic wrestling family that includes Reigns, was instrumental in the build-up to the main event of Wrestlemania XL.

WWE commentator Pat McAfee also dropped a major hint that Johnson could appear

The Hollywood megastar took on the persona of the ‘Final Boss’ and sided with Reigns in The Bloodline.

But now that Reigns has split from the faction since his return, wrestling fans have put two and two together about Johnson being in Georgia at the same time of Bad Blood.

Johnson also has a rivalry with Rhodes, who he confronted on the episode of Raw the day after Wrestlemania and told the newly minted WWE Universal Champion that he would return to face him.

Former NFL gambler and WWE commentator Pat McAfee also added fuel to the fire of Johnson’s potential return to Bad Blood.

Rhodes appeared on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ to promote Bad Blood and after the show ended, a clip appeared on social media of McAfee saying he heard ‘the big man is coming back this week’, hinting that it Johnson could be.

Bad Blood starts Saturday at 11 p.m.
